Hi Shelley, I went on the tour last September. I had a great time. Be sure to shop for wool items at the shop you stop at. Take lots of pics at the national museum in Wellington. If you are a fiber enthusiast, collect and wash some wool from the sheep station visit. Have lots of fun! I know you will!

Thanks Deborah-great advice. How many were on your trip?
Deborah Greymoon May 11, 2013 at 08:39 PM

It was a really small group. I think only around 11 or 12 people. I know it wasn't enough for them to break even but it was lots of fun.

I just noticed the New Zealand Oct 27,2013 trip is wait listed--so, fellow travelers--are you out there? Anyone traveling from the east coast?

Those of you that have already been on this trip, any hints, photos, words of wisdom you care to share?
Shelley

i need ideas for footwear..hiking boots, hiking sandals, tennis shoes?
Shirley Shatsky Feb 10, 2013 at 08:33 PM

I wore tennis shoes - any rubber soled shoes - light weight is best. Unless you are going to do heavy duty hiking, I don't think it is necessary to take up space with boots. Also, in the evening, I found a slightly dressier then tennis with rubber soles worked very well.

I will be leaving for New Zealand 1/13/13. I would like to hear from anyone going on that trip. It should be a great adventure. Have you any info re weather during that time? Shirley
Susan Uyeda Jan 02, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Your trip is full, so I am going to wait. Average high/low temp in Auckland in January is 73/60 F; Wellington 69/56 F; 3 or 4 inches of rain for the month. That's just average over time so this year could be different.

Susan Uyeda Dec 13, 2012 at 10:08 PM

I'm excited for you! I can only go Jan-Feb-Mar and those dates are waitlisted. Maybe next year. Write a review when you return.
Deborah Greymoon Dec 30, 2012 at 09:21 PM

The trip was fantastic. I would do a few things differently if I went again but the whole experience was fantastic. Our guides were very knowledgeable and showed us amazing sights. The experience was unforgettable!
Susan Uyeda Dec 30, 2012 at 10:41 PM

Thanks for the update! If you have any advice I would love to hear it: things you discovered on your own, what you would do differently, weather...

Deborah Greymoon Sep 11, 2012 at 08:19 PM

Is anyone else getting excited?
Susan Uyeda Dec 30, 2012 at 09:06 PM

The 2014 dates are open and we are signed up for January, a whole year in the future.
