Program #16434RJ
28 Days | 27 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Chet and I are participating in the Jan. 22, 2015 trip. We would love to hear from anyone else taking this journey. Very excited!

Janice Hoistad Jul 27, 2014 at 10:33 PM

I was advised by a friend to have a head net (bugs), especially at Uluru/Ayers Rock where the flies are bad. You can get hats with the net attached, or LL Bean has a net that goes over the hat.

We are actually going a day ahead, on he 20th. Figured we needed a chance to get over jet lag. I'm looking forward to this trip!
Janice Hoistad Jul 27, 2014 at 10:52 PM

Look forward to meeting you.

Gaye Lindsey Jul 27, 2014 at 09:34 PM

Is anyone doing the program that begins on September 21? I am curious to find out about how many will be on this trip.
Janice Hoistad Jul 27, 2014 at 10:23 PM

Hi Gaye, I'm traveling solo on the Sept 21-Oct 18, out of LAX. Are you booked on the 11:50 pm Qantas flight?
Janice Hoistad Jul 27, 2014 at 10:24 PM

P.S. Call RS and ask about number of people booked.

JANET S REED Jul 25, 2014 at 08:34 PM

How many people are there on a typical program trip?
Rob Stohlman Jul 28, 2014 at 09:27 AM

The one leaving October 26 has 28 per RS.

Frederick McAuley Jun 30, 2014 at 05:01 PM

Anyone doing the Australia/New Zealand trip October 26 to November 25? Would love to connect.
Barbara Jul 06, 2014 at 01:02 AM

I'm going on that trip.
Rob Stohlman Jul 09, 2014 at 09:16 PM

I'm going on this trip too. Really looking forward to it.

I'm interested in meeting a roommate for the sept trip to NZ and Aust. I also am leaving LAX about a week earlier to spend part of a week at Kangaroo Sanctuary Island in Sept. I've booked that already. Really looking forward to it! Would love to communicate w potential roommate. Do we need to hook up or does program hook us up? Do need non-smoking roommate.

Chris Cannon Apr 30, 2014 at 07:26 AM

Virginia and I will be pleased to meet up with anyone else traveling on the same flight from LAX to Sydney, October 12 in the late evening.

Jo Ann Orsborn Apr 16, 2014 at 01:14 PM

We went from mid-Sept. to mid-Oct. in 2013 and found it to be a beautiful time of year to be there.
