See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am very keen in taking this trip next winter (Feb 2014), widowed 72 yr old, looking for roommate - taken 15+ RS trips and love them. Ann Hurd from Charleston, SC

Joan Burgess Apr 01, 2013 at 12:33 PM

Ann, I took this trip as a single in 2010. The group and leaders included me in all activities, which was great. Go for it! It's a wonderful adventure.

Ann, are we still on for the Odessey Down Under next year? Kay Fisher

I have decided to wait until Sept. and take the Silk Road Trip. If anyone is interested in rooming together, please let me know. Sounds like a fabulous journey. Kay Fisher

I am booked to do this exciting trip on February 3-2 March, 2013. I am a widow and have booked to share with a roommate provided by Road Scholar. I am an active 71 year old. I'd love to hear from anyone else who is going and from anyone who has done this trip.

Roselyn Burman Sep 19, 2012 at 11:42 AM

As a single, I will be leaving on Oct.7th from Palm Beach for California for the Austrailia & New Zealand Trip and wanted to know if anyone is going from my area.

Sandra Sucher Aug 08, 2012 at 11:42 AM

A friend and I will be taking this trip in October and November 2012. We recently received our information packets and are excited to begin planning. We would love some packing advice from anyone who has actually taken this trip. We have been urged to pack lightly and rely on doing laundry during the trip. Given the range of weather and activities we expect, the list we were sent sounds TOO light to me. I would love to hear some input from veterans of the trip.

I'd also be interested in thoughts anyone might have on packing/outfitting.

Rosalind Niederbuehl Jul 11, 2012 at 04:42 PM

This trip sounds fabulous and my husband and I want to do it. We do not like very hot weather. What is the best month to do this trip? Preferably milder weather and dry.

Kay Fisher Feb 09, 2012 at 07:30 PM

I want VERY much to do this program, but I am a single person (widow). The price is terribly expensive, as a result. Is anyone signed up for the trip and interested in a roommate?....warning: I read myself to sleep; I'm a Republican, and I'm 72 1/2. I have a great sense of humor and require that of anyone I'm friends with. I love to 'go and do,' and no grumps need apply! Love, Kay Fisher Amelia Island

Don't miss this trip for lack of a roommate; sign up for a double room and let Road Scholar assign a roommate!
Joan Burgess May 23, 2012 at 12:16 PM

I did this trip as a single in 2011. It was my first time traveling alone. I paid the single supplement. The people were most gracious and included me and other singles in all events. Go for it!!
Angela McGarry Sep 20, 2012 at 12:17 PM

I am a widow, 71 years old, active and fun. I am booked to do this adventure February 3 - March 2, 2013. I need a roommate too.
