For those who have taken the Discover New Zealand, Walking Clean and Green, can you tell me if there is any whale watching on a boat? Any boat rides at all?
Charles Anderson Oct 07, 2015 at 12:35 PM

Day 10 has whale watching. And there's a boat ride in MIlford Sound later in the program
Felicita Ballesteros Oct 07, 2015 at 12:44 PM

Thanks for the quick response. I better bring some sea sickness pills. Thanks again,
Bernice Maw Oct 07, 2015 at 04:24 PM

Felicita, If you go through the program details and expand, it will give you a full itenary. There are some ferry rides along with whale watching. I would bring sea sickness aids. Try the acupuncture wrist bands.

As I said, it was two years ago and that looks much more affordable. I did not have a daily wifi amount but I don't understand what that is. I bought 2gb data but used it in something like an hour. That's why it got expensive. Of course, compared to the total cost of the trip, it's not expensive if you need it!

Surprised about cost SIM card. Spark (telecom) has a AUS$19 pac with .5 GB and free 1 GB free wifi per day on included. Can buy in airport.https://www.spark.co.nz/shop/mobile/sim/telecom-sim-card-options.html#Prepaid. Am I wrong, Charles?

We took this program two years ago. I carried my computer, cell phone, and ext. hard drive. Backed up my photos (2000 of them) whenever the chance arose, but most every evening. I bought a simcard and tried using the phone as a wifi but that was crazy expensive. We just paid at the hotels every few days. If you're a photographer, it sometimes gets frustrating at times. But at Wanaka, you get a chance to get up early and walk around the lake. You can even get a shot of the famous tree in the lake which should be in its fall colors right now. If you leaders are John and Judy, say hi from Charlie and Sandy.

We are also arriving the evening of March 3rd. coming from Hawaii. RS found us a hotel near the airport for 2 nights. Slightly concerned we will be cold since 70s is chilly to us....but mostly very excited.

We are arriving 2 days early staying a BB--need time to adjust. Will buy sim card since many of our lodging charge for wifi. Will also use the ATMin Auk.. Taking iphones, ipad, camera, rain pants, rain jacket, and separate jacket. Bulky but think necessary. Temps 40-60 No previous RS and will go to Australia after this with OAT.

My wife and I are taking the trip for the 3rd of March, starting to get very excited. Someone was wondering about computers and I thought I would put in my two cents worth: We both carry Asus Memo pad tablets and I set out cameras up to take micro SD cards so we could put what we shot each day into the tablet and save it in the cloud after adjusting the contrast ect. They have 7 inch screens and fit into about any bag. They also weigh about 10 oz. Hope that helps.
