Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

You'll love it. I took the tour ending October 4. You might want to consider an awesome experience - a helicopter ride over Kauai on your free day - Thursday. Book it when you are at the Prince Hotel - much cheaper than on ship, and often not available because they sell out.
Incredible to see Kauai from the air, and visit Waimea Canyon the next day.

Enjoy the beauty of Hawaii, too much good food, and thoughtful learning!

Thanks for the travel ideas. I'm counting down the days.
Janet Liniger Oct 17, 2014 at 11:47 PM

Thanks so much for the suggestion and the tip about booking at the hotel, Katherine.
Jiill Ghnassia Oct 19, 2014 at 11:20 AM

Katherine, Thanks so much for the tips. I shall definitely book that helicopter ride and visit Waimea Canyon. My trip begins Feb. 11, but I can't wait.

Janet Liniger Oct 16, 2014 at 12:22 PM

Looking forward to Tropical Splendor: Exploring the Hawaiian Island, Oct. 29 - Nov. 8, 2014. Who else is going?
GORDON BARDEN Oct 17, 2014 at 07:01 PM

I will be arriving on the 277th, maybe we can meet on the 28th.

Diana Worthington Oct 01, 2014 at 07:16 AM

Hi Jill,
Did you sign up for the trip leaving Feb 25, 2015? I was but they called and cancelled and I'm now on the trip leaving Feb 11.
Jiill Ghnassia Oct 19, 2014 at 11:21 AM

Hi, Diana, I am not on that same trip beginning Feb. 11. I will arrive in Honolulu late on Feb. 9 but do not know where I am staying until the tour begins on the 11th. How about you? When do you arrive?
Jiill Ghnassia Oct 19, 2014 at 11:22 AM

I meant to write I am NOW on the one beginning Feb. 11. I was on the one on Feb. 25 but was reschedule for the 11th, the same as you!

I am taking my first Road Scholar trip, the Tropical Splendor, and first trip to Hawaii, beginning Feb. 25, 2014. Does one receive tickets? Confirmations? Anyone else signed up for this trip? Thanks for your help,
Jill Ghnassia

I received my Final Information Packet last week, along with luggage tags. This is my third R S trip and I have never had any problems.
Jiill Ghnassia Sep 23, 2014 at 11:46 AM

Thanks for the information, Gordon. I will be looking for my information in early 2015. Enjoy the trip. Would be interested to know how you liked it. Bon Voyage. Jill

Today I made some final arrangements for my trip (Oct. 29 to Nov. 8 2014) hotel, travel insurance. I would like to communicate with others going on the same program. This will be my 3rd Road program and my first trip to Hawaii.
Janet Liniger Oct 16, 2014 at 12:26 PM

Hello, Gordon. John and I will be on that trip, and looking forward to meeting you. Where are you from? What other Road programs have you done?

Katherine Cram Jun 27, 2014 at 07:40 PM

Anyone going on the September 24, 2014 trip?
Janet Liniger Jul 30, 2014 at 08:27 PM

John and Janet Liniger from Johnstown, CO are going. Will we see you there, Katherine?
Katherine Cram Jul 30, 2014 at 08:36 PM

Hello, John and Janet! Yes, I am looking forward to meeting both of you in our explorations of Hawaii.

My husband and I are thinking about the Sept or Oct 2014 trip. Any advice? How does it work with a small group on a large ship? How do you get off the ship to visit sites? How is the weather? We did the Galapogos trip on the Galaven and loved it.
Mary Pax Dec 14, 2013 at 11:38 AM

The Road Scholar group meets at a predetermined site, before going ashore. Weather was almost too hot in March, for us coming from cold weather. Make sure you drink enough water. We received stainless steel water bottles to take on day trips. I'm still using mine when I go to an exercise class. Mary Lou

My friend Roger and I will be on the 4/3 to 4/13 trip and would like to know if people have signed up for the Day 3 optional activity - the Polynesian Culture Center. Karel

My husband and I signed up for the PCC. The auditorium where a too long program was held is partially open air. We got really chilled. My husband develop the flu (in spite of flu shots last November). Just as he was getting better, I got sick. Our vacation was ruined. Maybe you would fare better.
Janet Liniger Jul 30, 2014 at 08:29 PM

My husband and I are signed up. We were there several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it enough to want to go back. Seems to be a good way to spend Day 3.
