I'm going on the March 24-April 9 trip. For A LOT of very interesting detail about Japan from all points of view, take a look at www.japan-talk.com/jt/new/japan.

Hello Nancy:
Robert Riedesel Feb 23, 2015 at 02:04 PM

My wife are also on the same trip, and really looking forward to it. We did review the website you posted and also found it very informative. Looks to be a very busy trip. We are flying out of Chicago. Looking forward to meeting you. Bob & Murriel Riedesel

Glad you liked that website. I'm leaving Asheville, NC on the 18th going to San Jose, CA to visit friends, and then departing from San Jose on the 21st. I'll arrive on Sunday and spend between then and the start of our tour with my American stepson who lives and works in Tokyo to see some of the sights that aren't on the tour (and, of course, his very small apartment!). Staying at the same hotel as our tour group.

Please report back on the walking tour: value for money, worthwhile, things you didn't see on the Road Scholar tour, etc.
