6 Days | 5 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Carol, thank you for your reply.

Carol Gendel Sep 16, 2014 at 12:50 AM

I did this trip last year and really enjoyed it. I am sure you will as well.

I am looking forward to attending the November 16, 2014 Program. It would be nice to know if others are travelling from NJ or PA. Please let me hear from you.

The field trip to Ancoma seems very short: leave by bus 12:45 for 65 mile trip. Arrive ~2--leave again by ~ 4:15 to be back at hotel by 5:30. So 2.25 hours to see pueblo & lower village???

anyone else traveling from Long Island to the Converso NM trip 10/13?

Adrienne Bornstein May 15, 2013 at 10:34 PM

June 16th and the NM Converso/Crypto Jews is my first program with RS. I'm eager to meet/hear from any others on this trip.
Carol Gendel May 15, 2013 at 11:59 PM

I went on the April trip - my first RS - and had a great time. It is well organized and the speakers are very interesting. The attendees were very nice and good discussions.Be forwarned you will either need lots of cash or your checkbook for souvenirs at the pueblos and the street merchants in Santa Fe, as they mostly don't take credit cards. Bring close toed shoes,a warm sweater and light gloves for the trips to pueblos as they are at high elevations and can get cold. RS provides a water bottle for the trips. You will have a very good time.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and helpful information!

Carol, I look forward to meeting you. I've attended both Road Scholar and Elder Hostel programs. All of the progams were well done. Instructors were well chosen. See you in New Mexico in a few days.
