My husband and I did this program in May 2012, and it was an incredible experience. As a result we have initiated a fund-raising campaign for Pro Vita and will match all donations up to $3000. You can donate directly to The American Friends of Pro Vita Foundation (provitafoundation@yahoo.com), 505 Janneys Lane, Alexandria, VA 22302. All the funds go directly to Pro Vita and will be used to complete a new home for the elderly residents of the community. It is next door to the volunteer housing (Casa Tyrol). So far we have raised $2350. You may also donate via my giving page (Donna Shelton) under United Planet at FirstGiving.com but they do keep a small percentage for administrative costs. If you were a volunteer at Pro Vita you know how much they need the financial help. The community has grown to over 400 children and adults.

Would love to hear from previous travellers or anyone also enrolled in the April 2012 trip. Specifically interested in details about living at Pro Vita and the work assignments.
