Did I read something about having time to take the rail into Pisa and the necessity of buying a timed ticket to climb the tower?
Gerald Cutler Jul 31, 2015 at 08:48 AM

See my April 9th post on this topic. The person on our trip didn't have to wait long to get the ticket as I recall. But Pisa is on the itinerary. You get there around 3-4 PM. No need for a train or seperate trip. We went to Lucca on the "free" day. Jane is very helpful in arranging side trips.
Carole Kenyon Jul 31, 2015 at 12:35 PM

Thanks, Gerald. I've got the info now.

The September 27th trip, leaving from JFK. Have already "met" one other couple. Anyone else out there?
Jeffrey Sasmor Jul 31, 2015 at 02:44 PM

Wife Evelyn and I are joining the program on the 28th of Sept flying in from LHR

James Gieseke Jul 09, 2015 at 08:48 PM

My wife Debby and I are going on the Oct 11 trip. Anybody out there on this trip?
Jean Gilman Jul 10, 2015 at 11:17 AM

Like I wrote below, I am thinking about signing up for the Oct. 11 date. Where are you traveling from?
Carole Kenyon Jul 10, 2015 at 02:23 PM

Ralph and I are going on the September 27th trip. The leaders really are working back to back on these trips. We'll be leaving from JFK.
James Gieseke Jul 10, 2015 at 11:17 PM

Debby and I are leaving from Columbus, Ohio and I presume we will go thru JFK although we haven't heard from RS travel to make our plane reservations as yet.

Jean Gilman Jul 03, 2015 at 11:35 AM

Is there a solo traveler out there scheduled for the Sept. 27 or Oct. 11 trip? I am thinking about signing up, and I would especially like to hear from someone traveling from Boston or Orlando.

Going on the May 3-14 tour and wondering about Pisa. Does anyone know if there will be an opportunity to climb the Tower? I know it's an extra 18 Euros but I won't be there again. I read that tickets can be hard to get. Anyone have any experience/advice with this? thx
Gerald Cutler Apr 09, 2015 at 09:19 PM

Got the following from Rick Steves' Italy book:
Gerald Cutler Apr 09, 2015 at 09:25 PM

Entry to Tower is by tied ticket good for 30- minute visit. Get ticket behind the tower on the left in the yellow building, or Museum of the Sinopias. May take hours of waiting unless at end of day Open till 10PM. On-line 45-15 days before visit at www.opapisa.it.
Jan Boyarzin Apr 09, 2015 at 09:28 PM

Ok, thank you. Hoping I can make it work!

Going a day early from SFO for an overnight in Pisa. Anyone on this KLM flight from SFO?

Our group seems to be silent except us. It appears they have not sold out our date. Looking forward to seeing you in Italy.

Anyone planning on taking advantage of the hiking opportunities on the May 3rd trip?
Jan Boyarzin Apr 09, 2015 at 08:00 PM

Hope to, depending on the length, difficulty and time ;-)
Kathie Vaughn Apr 22, 2015 at 11:23 AM

Also hoping to hike if not too difficult
