Hi Mari:
We took this trip last year. There is an airport shuttle that leaves from the airport and takes you to the hotel...The reservation desk is in the airport, tucked in the corner of luggage claim...orange bus...cost $25.00 to take to the hotel. Phone 401-841-0020.
Also, look in program details...travel details for further explanation.
We arrived a couple of days early, used the shuttle, then public busses to do some Newport sightseeing, and then met up with our group. But in any event, you will LOVE this trip. Get ready for food coma!

BTW...look for this trip on U-tube. That's our group! We had a videographer with us the entire time. What fun!!!

Thanks Sheila for your info! We have switched & are signed up for the New England Railroads.

Hi Mari, I didn't have the problem with airport transportation since I drove. I suggest you talk to the hotel people. They might provide transportation from the airport, or can offer another suggestion. Bob Young Lancaster, PA

Thanks Bob. I did talk to the hotel & they do not have airport shuttle, said to figure $50 for taxi.
Sheila Bracken Aug 21, 2015 at 08:51 AM

Mari...see my post above for an airport shuttle to the hotel. clean, comfortable and half the price of a taxi.

We are thinking about doing the Sept. 20-26 trip but am confused about getting from the airport to the hotel? If I read it right RS drops you off at the airport at the end but saw nothing about the start of the trip? Did I miss something? Thanks a lot... Mary Parratt

Is anyone else doing the Oct 4-10 and flying into Providence and then taking transportation to our final destination. I will be flying in there on the 3rd and staying until 4th due to not being able to get there on time on the 4th. If so, have you made these arrangements yet. I am just curious as to which way would be the best after reading some of the comments. Would be happy for suggestions and thank you for your time.

To my fellow travelers of last September: I have not forgotten that you wanted the list of the various names and email addresses. Problem is that I have been in hospitals, operating rooms, and rehabs ever snce I returned. The list is at my one home, and I won't be able to get there for at least another two months because of my leg. I'll make it, eventually. When I do, I'll get the material sent to all of you.

Irene, I see your question to me was answered. The logistics were handled with ease You will love this program!! Bob Young

Thanks Bob... I only went to day six and saw that we were overnighting in Brandon. I go with another tour group that is not as accommodating as RS. They cater mostly to fly-ins and don't worry about drivers.

I would like to do this program on June 14. I plan to drive.. however, it starts in RI and ends in VT. Is there someone out there who might be interested in the same dates who would be interested in arranging a shuttle. They could drive to VT to pick me up and leave their car in RI. At the end of the program I would drive them to RI. Or vice-versa.
Benay Bubar Feb 26, 2015 at 03:36 PM

They drop you off in Rhode Island after the Vermont leg, so you can leave your car at the start and you'll just be brought back to it at the end. (I did this trip last year.)

Thank you... I missed this information in the material.
