I am booked on the Nov 8th trip. Nov 11 is Armistice Day, which is a public holiday. Does anyone how or if Day 4 activities(The Latin Quarter and the Left Bank) will be impacted by the holiday? Thanks!

Hello, I am booked on the Sept. 27 trip to Paris and booked on the United flight 2081 (changed from flight 904) leaving Newark at 6:25 PM, arriving CDG 9/28 at 7:55 AM. Is there anyone that would want to share a taxi?

janet hunt Sep 24, 2014 at 01:59 PM

Thank you Kevin. Your answers are very helpful. I was debating the bus or taxi for Debbie and me. I was also considering bring an ipad/tablet. If hotel has a computer in the lobby, that is all I need.
I have done one other RS trip in USA, and it was a very good trip. Thanks again

Thank you, Kevin. that was helpful. It confirms my inclination to snack 'n nap upon arrival. That's what I did in Florence, and I was better off the next morning for it.

I was on the 9/7-9/14 trip. This was my first RS trip, the program exceeded my expectations. Rest assured, RS will take good care of you. A museum pass and metro card is part of the package. I used the lobby computer a few times to access email and to look up some things, there was no charge.
From the airport I took the Air France bus to Gar de Lyon then a cab to the hotel. I had the hotel arrange the ride back to the airport for my flight home. It cost about 26 euros (approx. $35.00) each way. After settling in, I walked up the block to a café and had a snack. A little further up is a bakery. Then back to the room for a nap. You will probably see more people smoking than you do in the states. Smokers sit outside at the cafes.

Thank you Kevin. I appreciate this information.

Kevin, would you mind sharing how much money you spent during your week in Paris? Thanks.

Another place I'd like to see is Pere Lachaise cemetery, which is not far by metro. I found a virtual tour online and located the grave of Jim Morrison.
janet hunt Sep 24, 2014 at 10:48 AM

actually thought about doing that on Sunday upon arrival.

We visited that cemetery on our June 2014 trip. Very interesting. We walked there from the hotel, about half an hour walk. Wear good sturdy shoes as the cemetery is all cobblestones.

From comments I've read from past visitors, RS guides go to some of the sites, including museums, but not all. I think that RS provides a taped guide for the Louvre. I'd like to see the Picasso Museum which I think is recently reopened. The RS museum pass will hopefully count. So much to see... Also when I get to the hotel, I may get a snack and take a nap until 5 pm.
janet hunt Sep 23, 2014 at 12:28 PM

There is a Museum Pass that can be purchased or hopefully provided by RS that allows us in some (not all) museums as well as to the front of the line. I have a whole list of things that I want to see and one is the Picasso Museum.

janet hunt Sep 23, 2014 at 08:36 AM

Will we be provided with a Museum Pass for the museums that we will be visiting while with a RS guide?
