My husband and I are doing Independent Paris Sept 27-Oct 4, 2015. I heard it is a small group of about 12. Anyone else on the trip on the discussion board?
Candace Leslie Aug 27, 2015 at 09:49 AM

Yes, we are doing Independent Paris. The dates we have are Sept. 24 -Oct.3

I think we'll be in two different groups, each staying at different hotels. I wonder if they will combine the overlapping groups for any of the activities. To be discovered!

Thanks for the info Charlotte. Please feel free to pass along any other tips as you think of them. Looking forward!

I will be doing the Independent Paris Sept 18-26. Is there anyone going on that trip. Also has anyone been in Paris that time of year. I would appreciate any packing suggestions.

Charlotte MacNeice Aug 24, 2015 at 05:08 PM

I went last November with RS to Paris. GREAT trip! I took layers of clothing, small umbrella for morning showers, hat for sun and rain. I found November in Paris similar to east coast US in weather. I travelled on my own, and I used tips in the RS brochure. I took Cars AirFrance (really buses) to Gare de Lyon, which was the closest train station to our hotel. I asked where the taxis were, and got to the hotel in 10 minutes. Study your maps, find the hotel and closest train station. AND use lots of Merci, and Pardon, Madame. The French were very friendly, esp if you used your manners and made an effort to use a little French. I took a carry-on, with a backpack rolled up in it,to use as a carry on leaving Paris. The carry-on was checked coming home. Bon Voyage! I may take the Paris RS trip again soon!

Thanks Charlotte! I've not been to Paris and can't wait!
