See our Small Group programs.

ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Does anyone know if there are any Christmas Day Church services or religious celebrations in Havana. We arrive on Christmas Day early in the morning and have a little free time. I am going to try to go to the Christmas eve services at the Episcopal Cathedral in Miami. Also, we will be in Varadero on New Years. Any suggestions there?
Thomas Bruno Dec 20, 2014 at 07:12 AM

This Wikipedia article lists dozens of Roman Catholic churches in Havana: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Archdiocese_of_San_Crist%C3%B3bal_de_la_Habana#Churches

Thanks Thomas. I found that and followed a ton of links. What I can find is anything about the actual servies. How wonderful it would be to attend a Midenight Mass in Havana!

There is certainly nothing more satisfying than being at a place in the world where history is happening. With yesterday's announcements it is probably too soon to predict how quickly changes will occur.
Somethings will require congressional action and some only require executive action. For instance, the president has the sole authority to diplomatically recognize another country but only Congress can approve the appointment of an ambassador.
The Wi-Fi infrastructure cannot be improved overnight, but in a country that has already been accepting European credit cards, banking regulation changes could happen quickly. I suppose it is not impossible to imagine that they would be accepting United States credit cards within 30 days or less.
The Helms-Burton Act of 1996 gives the Congress power to override any action taken by the executive to lift the embargo.
But judging by the reaction of most members of Congress, they will not stand in the way of normalizing relations with Cuba. Only a handful are likely to continue to take that position.
Interesting times, indeed.

From yesterday's New York Times: Mr. Obama will also allow greater banking ties, making it possible to use credit and debit cards in Cuba, and American travelers will be allowed to import up to $400 worth of goods from Cuba, including up to $100 in tobacco and alcohol products.

Carol Johnson Dec 18, 2014 at 09:20 AM

WOW!!!!!! Didn't we pick a great time to go to Cuba. Even if the only thing that is changed by March 2015 is currency, banking, payment methods, it will make a huge difference.
Pamela Hazard Dec 18, 2014 at 09:31 AM

The infrastructure being what it is, I wouldn't expect many efficient banking changes by March. It will be interesting though--certainly a momentous time to go.

Is a sports jacket or blazer necessary for men in Cuba (12/25-1/1 trip)?
Frank Feigert Dec 14, 2014 at 02:42 PM

No.

Kathleen M Dec 11, 2014 at 12:52 AM

Just checked with AT&T and they don't have reliable roaming in Cuba but if there is wifi anywhere that you can access you can use your phone for data and iMessages within your regular plan.
Pamela Hazard Dec 18, 2014 at 09:34 AM

Only in the hotels where you are staying. Remember, it's still a communist country. It would be expensive to use your phone. Your guide can help you for emergency contacts.

Any others going on the January 21st Cuban Evolution in the Arts trip?
Thomas Bruno Dec 06, 2014 at 07:06 AM

Hi Eloise: Tom Bruno & Beth Matthias of Champaign, Illinois, will be on the January 21, 2015, Cuba Arts trip. Looking forward to it.
Eloise Mares Dec 07, 2014 at 06:32 PM

Hi Tom, So far it seems like you, your wife, and I are the only ones that I am aware of so far for our tour. Maybe the others aren't posting here.

Barry Lindley Nov 30, 2014 at 12:47 PM

Can you get personal laundry done at the hotels?
Frank Feigert Nov 30, 2014 at 02:48 PM

Si.
