I was going to get cash from my bank now before travel. The question is how much is needed for lunch, dinner and a museum in each city. Any idea on the cost of a lunch or dinner. I was going to look for restaurants on line for an idea. $100 is 28,500 in Hungarian currency or was it Czech.

Sorry I don't know. Take a look at a website called Travelex.com it is run oit of the UK. IWe orderd our currency for Prague and budapest from them. They have over ight delivery or you can choose the arrival date. Delivery cost 9.99. No fee for the currency. Guess their profit is figured into the delivery charge. I like to have so e local currency for incidental. Been to Spain and the Netherlans and Enland three times. Nowhere near where we will be soon. Very excited. Ask Mr. googleabout usual expendatures. I know nad.

Look forward to it.

Looking forward to picking your brain and telling tales. We just spent 43 days in NZ. it was our second trip. Drove a 22 foot camper van, nine feet high on the left of course. Was a tea her once and learned to drive a school bus.
Sheila W Jul 25, 2015 at 06:08 PM

NZ is definitely on my to do list. I'll be excited to hear about your adventures although I'm pretty sure driving a camper van will not be on the itinerary :) See in about 6 weeks.

Ron and I generally travel independently, but meeting your fellow travelers is part of the fun. Only been on one other Road scholar trip and that was to Japan. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Only met one fellow traveler I could have done without but it was not a problem. We will be in our own apartment in Vienna and both have international drivers licenses. Looking forward to seeing some national parks and going to some markets. I will jave a complete kitchen and love to cook. This is a duel type vacation for us.
Sheila W Jul 25, 2015 at 01:19 PM

We love to rent apartments in various cities and use them as bases to explore an area. We've done that all over Italy especially. It really is a wonderful way to get to know a place. I'm sure that by the time you're done you'll feel like a native. Meet you soon!

Anyone going on the Sep 3 - 17 trip? I'd be interested in meeting our 'fellow travelers'.
Peggy Ryker Jul 25, 2015 at 09:54 AM

Peggy and Ron Ryker. We are gong on this trip and will stay 12 more days in Viennain an apartment. Very excitedbecause we have not visited much of Europe.
Sheila W Jul 25, 2015 at 11:51 AM

Thanks for introducing yourselves. Although I'd been to Europe many (8?) times, all of my trips sans one have been independent travel and the one 'tour' I did was a specialized one-week trip to Paris only. So, I'm a bit nervous about being in a larger group. Also this is my first RS trip so I don't know what to expect. I'm traveling with a friend as my spouse is not as keen on travel as I am. Look forward to meeting you in person.
Kata Ihasz Jul 28, 2015 at 01:26 PM

Dear Sheila, I am sure you will enjoy the trip, many new fellow travellers to meet, many nice stories to share..... Best from Kata, Budapest/Hungary
Paulette Roth Jul 31, 2015 at 01:12 PM

Jim and Paulette Roth, This is our first Road Scholar and third time to Europe. We did the river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest and ocean cruised the Baltic capitals. Jim's ancestors came to the US from Slovakia between the 1880-1907. We are interested in the areas history. We have been to Bratislava and Budapest once but wanted to do more in depth travel.

Anne May Jun 30, 2015 at 03:23 PM
