Program #20189RJ
13 Days | 12 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.

Looks like you will have good weather. I had bad weather and still had a great time. Vienna and Prague are great cities, I want to return to them.

Richard Marquart Oct 18, 2014 at 06:20 AM

I'll be in the Oct 20th group. Flying from Dulles International to Vienna. Wondering if anyone else will be on that flight
Debbie Beckely Oct 18, 2014 at 05:26 PM

We are on that flight, coming from Lexington, Virginia.
Richard Marquart Oct 20, 2014 at 06:07 AM

Great Debbie. If you folks want to meet beforehand, look for me. I'm short, have a mostly grey goatee, bald,
Richard Marquart Oct 20, 2014 at 09:18 AM

I'll have a red RoadScholar luggage tag on my black backpack

My wife and I look forward to the 10/20-11/1 version of this program. Are there suggestions from previous participants about things to see and do you would recommend?
Richard Klink Aug 21, 2014 at 02:28 PM

You will see many wonderful sights as part of the program. When I was there last year there was a lot of rain, rivers overflowed their banks, hard to get around. However, I recommend that you stop by the Hotel Sacher for a Sacher tort, also, the Cafe Mozart is terrific for lunch and don't miss the Albertina Museum.

Many thanks Richard.

We are flying from Dulles on October 20 to Vienna. Will you be on that flight? Debby and Harlan Beckley

Is anyone interested in booking tickets for the Vienna Boys Choir on Friday, June 20th, at MUTH? It starts at 5:30pm and lasts 2 hrs.
Joe Hoyle Jun 03, 2014 at 12:14 PM

My wife and I might be interested. Do you know the cost and how far the concert is from where we will be staying. If you want, contact me at Jhoyle@richmond.edu

Richard Klink May 16, 2013 at 03:24 PM

I see from the arrivals list that there are 19 people going on this program. Nice size group.

Richard Klink Mar 27, 2013 at 04:28 PM

I too would like to go to Salzburg and Melk. I'm going to check out
travel arrangements to see if it's possible to do on a half day off from the program.
Edna Beam Mar 27, 2013 at 08:00 PM

Viator has day tours from Vienna to Salzburg, and they do a nice job. You could probably do it by train, but I think you'd need more than a half day.

Alee Karpf Feb 08, 2013 at 08:30 AM

We are interested in a day trip to Salzburg. Can that be arranged?
Janice Feb 08, 2013 at 12:11 PM

Salzburg is too far from Vienna & Prague for a day trip. Look at a map.

David Tabert Jan 26, 2013 at 07:44 PM

We are arriving in Vienna early (May 27). Is anyone else planning on arriving before the program begins?

David & Deborah
Margaret Linden Feb 11, 2013 at 01:03 PM

I too plan to arrive on May 27th.
