Going on the July 8 through July 23 tour with my daughter. I usually travel alone so I'm very happy to have her going with me. It sounds like lots of fun. Looking forward to meeting more Road Scholars...who were soooo nice and inclusive on my last journey to Italy.
Wish I had started with Road Scholar many years ago when I began to see the world.
Paula Baker Jun 01, 2015 at 11:29 AM

My mom and I are talking about doing a Road Scholar Italy trip next...which one did you do? Was it fantastic? My mom and I went to Ireland in 2013 and it was super!! You'll have a great time!
Carrol Meredith Jun 10, 2015 at 05:09 PM

I did the Heel & Toe, Puglia, Basilicata, & Calabria. While the economy in the toe area is sad, the landscape is gorgeous and the activities planned by Road Scholar were excellent. The directors, lecturers, and locations were the best I've experienced with any other tour group and I've been with many to every continent on earth. I can't say enough about how included I felt as a single traveler. And the pace was set by the group being paced. That was very nice!

Ireland and Scotland in September, is it a good time for a trip?
Carrol Meredith May 31, 2015 at 01:45 PM

Perfect! If you're in Scotland in early Sept., there are "Gatherings" (outdoor field contests around and about) that you might want to research online. The royal family will be at Balmoral and they attend the one near there. Quite fun to spectate but it in outdoors in open sun (or rain) so very warm.

Amy Mann May 04, 2015 at 12:13 PM
