I didn't know when I registered on the Sept. 18 trip that this is a particularly special voyage. I learned on the Paul Gaughin website (pgcruises.com) that the featured Guest Host is scheduled to be Oceeanographer and Environmentalist Jean Michel Cousteau.
(PG departure date is SEPT 21). Wow! Thanks Road Scholar for securing space on this special voyage!

Yes, I too have signed up and hear it is supposed to be a marvelous trip. I look forward to meeting you. Where aer you from?
celeste coar Jan 24, 2016 at 08:33 PM

Hi Erna, I live in Hermosa Beach, California. Where are you from?
Erna Silberstein Jan 24, 2016 at 10:05 PM

I'm from Bethesda, Md, outside of Washington, DC, Right now we're hibernating because of the massive snow storm. Have you traveled with Road Scholar before? I've been on several wonderful trips with them.

Lucky you! This will be my first trip and I loved this particular cruise because of all the snorkeling we'll be able to do! It's nice you can dream about your next tropical vacation while waiting for the blizzard to pass!

If anyone in this discussion board has gone on the ship previously can you tell us whether there is room under the bed to put a duffel?

Vickie Robinson Jul 09, 2013 at 02:30 AM

I went a Road Scholar Paul Gauguin cruise in 2012. It was so marvelous that I'm going back on the March, 2014 voyage. Excellent lecturers, well planned field trips and lovely ship. Not to mention Tahiti and the rest of French Polynesia and surroundings.

Marge Sep 02, 2013 at 08:53 PM

Hi Jennifer - thank you for writing. Was hoping to make contact with some participants prior to the beginning of this trip. My email address is mjj1410@aol.com. I plan of flying from WI to LA the day before departure. How about you? Marge

Marge Jun 28, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Looking to get to know others going on this trip in September. I am going solo.

Christine Brown Jan 05, 2013 at 07:32 PM

I'm going in September and looking for a roommate. Anyone interested?

I have just made my deposit Christine also.
Jennifer Conners Mar 06, 2013 at 11:09 AM

I would like to share a room if we seem compatible.
Jennifer Conners Mar 06, 2013 at 11:10 AM

I am 60 years young, in good health and love to travel. I have a mild form of claustrophobia so I would need at least the room with the picture window or preferably a small balcony. please tell me a bit about yourself. Jen
Christine Brown Mar 06, 2013 at 07:20 PM

Good to hear from you. I'm 65, healthy and love to travel as well. The roommate matching category rooms have portholes I believe. I'm quiet, don't snore but do get up during the night to pee, usually more than once... I like to read before going to sleep - will that bother you? I would like to know more about you, too, and will answer any questions you feel are pertinent. Best way to contact me is personal e-mail - thebirdsandthetrees@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
