Isn't it fun to see so many from our March 11 trip posting here? Looking forward to put faces to these names!

Mary Lou Tenenbaum Jan 24, 2015 at 02:35 PM

Wow, I haven't checked in for about a week. What a lot of activity suddenly. Mike and I are from Pittsburgh and lived in NJ for 7 years a long time ago. We will be flying to San Diego on the 9th and would love to meet for drinks and or dinner.

Sheila Bracken Jan 23, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Looking forward to meeting you all. We are arriving San Diego mid afternoon on March 10 and will be staying at the program hotel. Maybe those of us who are staying at the hotel can meet for drinks or dinner as an early "get to know you" gathering.
My home e-mail is Feel free to contact me. This should be a fun trip! Carol, what part of PA? My late husband was from Pittsburgh.
Carol Sinclair Jan 23, 2015 at 12:29 PM

My plane arrives at 7PM so 7:30 by the time I get to the program hotel where I also am staying. I'd love to do dinner or whatever if it isn't to late for you and friends!
Carol Sinclair Jan 23, 2015 at 12:30 PM

Oh and I'm originally from NJ but live about 40 minutes (depending on traffic LOL) northeast of Philadelphia now. Pittsburgh is a Long way from me!
Sheila Bracken Jan 23, 2015 at 01:57 PM

I know that area well. We lived in Long Valley New Jersey, just east of the Delaware Water Gap. In fact we took our kids to Philadelphia as a school trip! Small world!

Beatriz Donatelli Jan 22, 2015 at 08:53 PM

Hi Carol from PA. My pal Susie and I will be there, you can pal around with us if you would like. : )
Carol Sinclair Jan 23, 2015 at 12:25 PM

Hi Beatrice! I look forward to meeting you and Susie and having friends already when I arrive :)

Carol Sinclair Jan 22, 2015 at 07:09 PM

Hi Sheila and Karen, plus Susan, John and their friends from Kansas!!! I'm Carol from PA and am traveling solo on the March 11th trip, so want to meet some friendlies, human and whales :). See you fairly soon!
Susan and John Wade Jan 23, 2015 at 09:22 AM

It's going to be a great trip. I'm sure the whales are busy messaging about seeing us as well. I'm sure meeting the Midwesterners and Pennsylvanians is on their bucket list too!

Sheila Bracken Jan 22, 2015 at 06:08 PM

Hi Susan and John
2 Omaha Nebraskans also going on March 11 trip! Other than e-mailing privately, all posts are public. Usually pertinent to specific trips.
This will be a repeat trip for me...just as excited second time around.
Sheila Bracken Jan 22, 2015 at 06:11 PM

My friend Karen Martin will be the second Nebraskan on this trip. She hasn't posted here yet.
Beatriz Donatelli Jan 22, 2015 at 08:52 PM

Sheila, did you see and touch whales on your last trip? What time of the year were you there? Thanks,
Sheila Bracken Jan 23, 2015 at 11:54 AM

Beatriz...lots of whales...momma and babies coming to meet humans. There were 12 in our boat, 6 got to touch a whale....I was about 6 inches away when she went back under water. This time will be the charm for me! Last trip was mid February.

Susan and John Wade Jan 22, 2015 at 09:27 AM

Four Kansans will be embarking on the March 11 trip. So excited to meet you all but sorry, the whales usurp everyone! Trying to find my way around this site - can't seem to find another way to connect. Susan (for John, Matt and Cate too.)

Sheila Bracken Jan 17, 2015 at 06:57 PM

Hi Linda and Arlene:
Re: shoes
Good tennis shoes will take you into the dessert as well as the walking part of the trip. Heavy hiking boots an overkill...especially on the climb up the rocks to the art cave. We are not in the desert for a very long time, so if you don't want to take hiking boots, should be OK. Water shoes or crocs a must for the walk to the boat on the rocky beach floor.
Sandals always good. Never any need to get gussied up.
Linda Smith Jan 17, 2015 at 07:26 PM

Thanks! I've hiked the canyon in Saucony's, so I thought my Nike's would work. I'm packing some Teva's (for water and walking), a trusted pair of burkies and sandals. I appreciate the tips!
