16 Days | 15 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

so glad to have found this page.... i'm going to CUBA on 3/10.......i have a huge collection of knitting needles? do they want them? seems like it's too hot to wear knitted stuff?!?
Martha Bradley Feb 28, 2015 at 08:10 PM

I'm sure that they do! It was amazing to see the Cubans with sweaters & jackets on when the temp dropped to 75!

Martha Bradley Feb 28, 2015 at 05:37 PM

Cubans are appreciative of anything you bring. Dentists are a good source for donated toothpaste, etc; artist friends for art supplies. Soap, face powder, sewing & knitting supplies, jump drives, books, school supplies, clothes you can wash & leave behind. Just imagine what you would want/need if you couldn't afford your basic necessities & then add something just for fun.

Virginia Delavan Feb 28, 2015 at 03:09 PM

Thanks, Martha. I look forward to meeting you -- and to escaping our frigid Philly weather.
Martha Ressler Feb 28, 2015 at 04:04 PM

My too. I'm getting really excited. And -- we live an hour and a half from Philly. Also plenty chilly.

Virginia Delavan Feb 28, 2015 at 01:52 PM

I am taking the March 6 - 22 trip. Where might I find a list of items needed by Cubans?
Martha Ressler Feb 28, 2015 at 03:03 PM

Virginia, I posted the same question here awhile ago. See around Feb 11, below. I got the answer: Spanish language children's books, Tylenol, pens and pencils, pencil sharpeners, soaps. We give them to our guide who donates them at the appropriate visits. I bought some travel size toothpaste, Tylenol, and gathered a few other items from around the house. I know I'll wish I'd brought such and so after I get down there. I did call RS, and they said where we find "the list" is in these discussion boards.
Martha Ressler Feb 28, 2015 at 03:04 PM

BTW, Virginia, I'm on the same trip, so I'll see you soon!

Joyce Tayer Feb 26, 2015 at 06:51 PM

Thanks so much, Marcia. I'm pleased I can use my IPad, etc.

Joyce Tayer Feb 25, 2015 at 09:36 PM

Any suggestions about adapters for IPhone and IPad? Are there
places to charge these in our hotels? Also, anyone traveling from SFO to Miami, 7 A.M. 3/20 on American? Joyce Tayer
Marcia Miller Feb 25, 2015 at 11:24 PM

I didn't need any adapters, just plugged it into the outlets, which were available in every hotel room.
Stephanie Hudson Feb 26, 2015 at 01:45 PM

very helpful, thanks

thanks Marcia- hope your trip was good. What were temps during your time?
Marcia Miller Feb 25, 2015 at 05:23 PM

I don't know the numbers, but the cold weather here made it down to Havana. I think it was probably in the 40's at times, especially at night. Santiago was nice and warm.
John Cubit Feb 26, 2015 at 10:48 AM

You can get weather statistics for Cuban cities online, including predictions. Do a Google search.
