Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Yes, that's what I do as well. It's only a week. I wash out my tops and nylon hiking pants, they dry fast.

Michael Thoryn Jun 30, 2015 at 04:35 PM

Plan on hand washing. All our clothes were drip-dry and took individual packets of Woolite.

Carol Auer Jun 28, 2015 at 11:55 PM

We just signed up for Oct 1-9, our first trip with RS. Will there be a chance to do a load of laundry or will we be hand washing?
Helen Sternheim Jun 29, 2015 at 11:15 AM

Call the motels you are staying at and see if they have guest laundries.

How many suitcases can we bring?
Cathy Rankin Jun 23, 2015 at 04:05 PM

I suggest only 1 you are responsible for getting suitcase to bus and to room alexis park has no elevator. Also if staying in parks need to take suitcase to cabin which is a short distance from bus
Cathy Rankin Jun 23, 2015 at 04:06 PM

I just came back from this trip it was great i had 1 suitcase and a backpack

I am going on the Nat'l Parks trip in Oct.
My problem is the schedule on the last day. We don't get back to Vegas until around 1 so I can't schedule a flight until 3 or so which gets me back to Ohare pretty late at night. Just wonder if this affects others also.
Rebecca Machin Jun 15, 2015 at 02:01 PM

It's a great trip. Several people stayed an extra night and flew out the next day. Make sure you're ready for hiking at a high elevation
Doris Knapton Jun 23, 2015 at 03:20 PM

We fly to Milwaukee with another hour & a half drive after that & had the same problem. We made reservations at Strip hotel at avery good rice & can get the hotel shuttle from the airport where Road Scholar can drop us off.

Cathy, one evening should be spent looking at the beautiful Wynn hotel and having dinner or at least lunch there. It is fabulous. We also saw a show at the Mandalay, Michael Jackson, THE ONE, cirque de Soleil. I really liked it. We watched the water dance and toured the displays at the bellagio and road the gondolas at the Venetian. The hotel, the Alexis is pretty yucky. The staff are rude and they leave people stranded on the strip and left us 45 minutes at the airport and the. Didn't even say they were sorry. We rode the monorail and looked at the lights. Cabs were mostly about ten dollars for the hotel and returning....oh, and we watched the volcano erupt at Mirage and saw their fish tanks. There is really good food everywhere except at the Alexis!!

Rebecca Machin May 31, 2015 at 02:18 PM

Rebecca Machin Jun 01, 2015 at 08:06 PM
