Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Dress for all kinds of weather. We experienced snow at Bryce on the May 5th/15th trip. This was an absolute wonderful will love it. Great trip to introduce you to a Road Scholar program.

Yup, layer-layer-layer! May 5-15 had 32F to 82F weather, from snow to warm sun!

Take gloves ... And scarf!

Anyone going going on the October 6th trip

Shelly Rosen May 23, 2014 at 11:28 AM

Anyone know anything about Pando, the largest living organism in the world. It is a huge grove of quaking aspen trees near Capital Reef. Does RS take us there on this trip. It seems to be something to see.

My husband and I will be on our first Road Scholar trip April 28-May 8. Anyone else going on these particular dates?

Mary Taylor Apr 22, 2014 at 09:41 AM

Hi All,
My name is Mary and my friend Mitzi and I are on the May 5-15 trip. We live in the Cincinnati area and we are on the shuttle at 1:00pm from Las Vegas. Looking forward to meeting everyone! This is my 5th trip w/Road Scholar. I've been out west many times and want to re-visit these wonderful places!
See you soon!

Judy Giorgi -Thompson Apr 22, 2014 at 10:41 AM

Hi Mary and husband Bill and I are on this trip also. We are arriving a day early. This will also be our 5th RS trip. We are on a countdown now and looking forward to this trip very much. We are looking forward to meeting you and Mitzi.

Just my thoughts, never been there. Leaving on may26, I have no intention of bringing hiking boots. I believe a good athletic shoe is more than adequate. To me anything else is overkill but u have to do what makes u comfortable.

Betty Kirksey Apr 13, 2014 at 07:33 PM

I'm doing this trip on Apr 17-27. Am wondering if hiking boots are a real necessity or if good athletic shoes will suffice. Thanks for any advice.
Ken Peters Apr 13, 2014 at 10:18 PM

We were on this trip a few weeks ago. You will love it. A few people wore athletic shoes, but I think you will be more comfortable in lightweight hiking boots. Remember to take clothing you can layer!

Linda Pennington Apr 07, 2014 at 01:50 PM

I am Linda Pennington and am doing the trip May 5-15th with a friend, Dorothy Isdell. I have done a couple of trips with RS but she has not. I did Norway, Sweden and Denmark with my hubby(who is deceased) and I also did a Branson golf outing. Dorothy and I live 1 hour from Springfield, MO. We are looking forward to meeting new people and learning on this program. Both of us are widows who like to travel and learn new things.
Judy Giorgi -Thompson Apr 07, 2014 at 03:53 PM

Nice to have you and Dorothy on the May 5th trip. This will be the 5th RS trip for my husband, Bill and I. We also love meeting new people, learning where they have traveled from and hearing about their past trips with RS. See you both at orientation!
