Here is a link that I used. You can put each city in the search bar and then save them as a bookmark. http://www.accuweather.com/en/uz/khiva/356380/month/356380?monyr=4/01/2015

Antonette Higgins Apr 21, 2015 at 07:34 PM

Antonette Higgins Apr 22, 2015 at 11:33 AM

Alan Eastham Apr 22, 2015 at 12:11 PM

Marmara Guesthouse. Same general area, to the south and a bit east of the Neorion.

Alan Eastham Jan 30, 2015 at 10:28 AM

Just enrolled in the May 29 2015 start date. Anyone else there?
Antonette Higgins Mar 07, 2015 at 01:28 AM

A friend and I.
Sarah Jones Apr 19, 2015 at 07:11 AM

I am enrolled in May 29th Silk Rd with Iran ext. Look forward to meeting you.
Alan Eastham Apr 20, 2015 at 12:49 PM

Glad to hear from you. Do you have your visas yet?
Sarah Jones Apr 20, 2015 at 10:36 PM

No visas yet. Do you have yours?
Alan Eastham Apr 20, 2015 at 11:09 PM

We are using passportvisaexpress, and we have Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Passports are at the Turkmenistan Embassy with projected completion Monday 27 Apr. Iran visa "number" completed so the next stop for the passports nex week will be the Iranian Interests Section for the actual visa.
Sarah Jones Apr 21, 2015 at 05:00 PM

After i read your post I went to passportvisaexpress site and my visas are the same as yours. I.E. - Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are done. Turkmenistan is in process. I do not understand what you mean by "Iran visa number".
Alan Eastham Apr 21, 2015 at 05:12 PM

I asked Marina Arkhipova about the status, and she followed up with me when the "invitation letter" was received. Apparently the travel agent in Iran has to provde an invitation letter which is approved by some government entity in Tehran, which issues a number. Then that number is provided to the Iranian Interests Section in Washington to authorize the visa. The delay in these was the process of getting the invitations approved.
Sarah Jones Apr 21, 2015 at 05:18 PM

Thanks for the info on this creative process. Your input is appreciated.
Antonette Higgins Apr 21, 2015 at 07:36 PM

Sarah: My name in Toni and I and a friend are also going on the Central ASia Trip, we will not be doing the Iram extension. I am glad you asked about the Visa's as I was getting a little worried, but now I will just relax and things should be fine....from California and looking forward to meeting everyone
Alan Eastham Apr 23, 2015 at 03:34 PM

Turkmenistan visa showed up as issued in passportvisaexpress justs now. On to Iran.
Alan Eastham May 04, 2015 at 04:49 PM

Iran visa issued and return shipment under way. Good to go!

Linda Weidert Jan 26, 2015 at 11:38 PM

Opps, might have sent off a incomplete post... here I go again. Would love to hear from anyone traveling on the May 1-20,2015 Silk Road trip. Husband, Jim and I live in Northern CA, flying out of San Francisco early to spend 3 days in Istanbul, before meeting group at airport on our final leg to Bishkek. Would love to get to know our fellow bus mates.
Helen Bodington Feb 06, 2015 at 07:16 PM

I unfortunately cannot arrive early so will be in Bishkek in the predawn hours on May 2. I live in the SF Bay area.
Linda Weidert Feb 07, 2015 at 09:39 PM

Helen, we look forward to meeting you. If you are leaving from Istanbul on May 2, late night departure, arriving in Bishkek, very early morning on May 3rd, we will be on the same flight.

Richard Soulen Jan 24, 2015 at 03:51 PM

In re April tour. We arrive in Bishkek from Istanbul on Saturday morning, a day earlier. Anyone else?

Catherine Cloud Dec 12, 2014 at 05:05 PM

I keep meaning to post on here that the only thing I wish I'd taken on this trip was a rubber disk to use as a drain stopper. None of the sinks had plugs which made hand laundry a challenge. One of those rubber grippers for opening jars would have been perfect. . . .
olga werchola Dec 12, 2014 at 05:18 PM

Yeah - I ended up doing my bits of laudry in the tub at times. I do think that that was more a function of the size of the sink.
