I signed up for the 11/2 program, last minute, and have a roommate assigned to me. if you are that person, write back as it would be great to know who I'm paired with prior to 11/2/14. I think I got the last spot...can't wait.

Thanks for the layering information--I am the queen of layers to the consternation of others!!

Is anyone enrolled in the January 11, 2015 Big Bend trip? I am looking for other participants with whom to drive from El Paso.
John Moyer Aug 13, 2014 at 06:56 AM

Susan, Been there, done that. Take layers, it's cool in the morning, January highs in the low to mid 70's, Far Flung is a great site, great folks. Terrific choice.

Thinking of signing up for Nov 2 program. Has anyone hiked Big Bend at that time of year? How warm will it be?
Jonathan Kiell Jul 26, 2014 at 10:56 AM

I did the trip in early December a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. Weather varies a good deal, but we were swimming in the river during the day (photo). Hiking during the day was pretty warm - a shade hat is a good idea. It got cool enough some evenings for a light jacket, but generally did not get cold. Enjoy!

Thanks so much!!

I have signed up for the Nov 2 trip and am flying into Midland on Saturday. I'm getting there late in the day and am spending the night there and driving to Big Bend on Sunday. I'll be happy to take anybody else that needs a ride from Midland. Dan Miller 251-377-7045
