Anyone going on the February 21st trip to Machu Picchu? It will be my first Road Scholar trip.
Ed Bolson Jan 13, 2016 at 12:45 PM

My wife Adele and I are anticipating another r fantastic trip with Road Scholar. We love having everything arranged for us, and the quality educational content. The other participants have always been wonderful. We look forward to meeting you and the other travelers in Miami airport!, assuming you're u are using their transportation arrangements.

Anyone going on the Jan 10th trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos?
Margaret Courtright Dec 06, 2015 at 04:19 PM

yes, Mary -- Paul and Peggy Courtright from Atlanta. This is our first Road Scholar trip.
Mary Sorrell Dec 07, 2015 at 09:36 PM

Hi Peggy! Quite a challenge trying to pack light for hiking in the Andes and snorkeling in the Galapagos! This is our first trip with a group. That 1:00 a.m. flight out of Miami should be fun! Cliff and Mary from Buda, Tx.

Hi Mary and Peggy...I'm also on the January 10th trip. Its also my first Road Scholar trip. Marybeth from Austin...just down the road from Buda!
Mary Sorrell Dec 14, 2015 at 08:29 PM

Hi Marybeth . . .we're practically neighbors! My husband is sad because he's going to have to leave his cowboy boots at home. I hope our group of 10 can handle 3 Texans (though I'm a Michigander at heart)!

Any one else on the Nov 20 trip taking the extension at the end of the trip to Lake Titicaca? Holbrook set it up for us. We just skip the final flight to Lima. It sounds amazing!

We're going on the November 20, 2015 trip and wondering about snorkeling. We've snorkeled once or twice but want to try it iagain on the trip. Have others found snorkeling easy even as beginners? Are there people who will help? Excited about the trip and anxious to meet our fellow travelers. Gerri and Jim from MN
Carol Phillips Oct 19, 2015 at 03:14 PM

I had not snorkeled for years and I had no problems. It is an amazing experience so do try it. If you aren't comfortable, the guides are very helpful, and you can always get back on the boat. Enjoy the trip ~

Debra Barsotti Sep 08, 2015 at 08:10 PM

We are going on the Oct 31st 2015 trip. Excited to meet our travel companions! It is getting close now!

JOHN SAMAS Sep 01, 2015 at 11:33 AM

I am traveling on the October 31 2015 trip. Whatis suggested for foot wear for the Wet Landings?
Sandra Kurlander Sep 01, 2015 at 11:53 AM

I had Teva river sandals and orange Speedo water sneakers. I think both were bought at REI
Yvonne Sippel Sep 01, 2015 at 06:44 PM

I wore Keens for the wet landings. They were perfect!

Ray Mehler Aug 22, 2015 at 11:25 AM

We are on Discovering Mahu Picchu and Galapagos #20974 Sept19. Anyone know if need voltage converter for 110V US? See LaPinta has 110-220V.
Sandra Kurlander Sep 01, 2015 at 11:54 AM

I used one. Didn't know if I had to.
Yvonne Sippel Sep 01, 2015 at 06:47 PM

We did not use one at either location. Check your chargers. If they say 110/220, you can plug in directly. Products like hair dryers, curling irons, etc. should be dual voltage or you'd need a converter.

melinda kough Apr 26, 2015 at 10:49 PM

when and why was the ship changed from the national geographic endeavour to the la pinta?
Walt Barry Apr 27, 2015 at 08:20 AM

I've heard nothing specific but am guessing it had to do with cost and expense. The Linblad cruises appear to be at least a couple of thousand dollars
Walt Barry Apr 27, 2015 at 08:22 AM

...more than the comparable Road Scholar trip. We may have been on the last iteration of that combine between Road Scholar and Linblad and were very happy campers!
