14 Days | 13 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am signed up for the August 26 sail and will be traveling solo.

jane perkins Jun 03, 2014 at 05:59 PM

i'm curious who is signed up for the august 26 sail?

Steven Siehr Aug 21, 2013 at 02:18 PM

I found this site very informative. It provides many details for the crossing. http://www.seat61.com/queen-mary-2-transatlantic.htm#.UhUDLha9pyA

are you on the august 26 trip?

Annika Jaspers Aug 12, 2013 at 06:48 PM

I'm looking at this trip for sometime in 2014, as it's been a lifelong dream of mine to cross the Atlantic on an ocean liner. I would, however, be traveling by myself as I haven't been able to persuade any of my women friends to join me. For those of you who have been on this trip, is is more geared to "couples" or would a single woman find enough activities to do that don't' require a partner? Thanks for your input.
jane perkins Apr 14, 2014 at 04:16 PM

have you signed up? i am about to do it and i am single too. we could take a chance and take a double? ha. i'm going august 26, 2014.
Annika Jaspers Apr 14, 2014 at 04:54 PM

Ooh, I wish I had known about this sooner. I generally plan my trips 9 months to a year in advance and this year I'll be in Vienna and Salzburg from August 16-23. I'd certainly be interested in hearing your observations about the Queen Mary trip and am going to put a note on my calendar to follow up with you. If you give it a ringing endorsement, I might put it on my list for 2015.
Annika Jaspers Apr 14, 2014 at 04:55 PM

Jane--if by any chance you could do the Sept. 26 trip, I could conceivably be interested.

Annika.. i'm meeting friends in France for several weeks and this crossing is perfect so i cannot revise. i'm getting excited now...
Annika Jaspers Jun 03, 2014 at 04:00 PM

Will be really anxious to hear about the trip, especially what it's like to go as a single. It's still on my list.

I will be traveling from the Washington, DC / MD Suburbs area to and from New York for this program. Would love to join up with someone else going from this area.
jane perkins Jun 03, 2014 at 05:57 PM

i live in DC but will be traveling to NYC from boston for this trip. glad to see another DC person!
Elaine B Murrell Jun 03, 2014 at 09:35 PM

Jane: I did this trip last fall, traveling solo. It was wonderful. All the members of our group were very friendly, and there was also one other person who was traveling solo. So much was packed into the itinerary that it left no time for feeling alone.

Has anyone been on this program recently?
Is anyone else interested in sharing a cabin with the balcony? Dates selected are Oct-Nov 2013.

Is there anyone doing Program 11996RJ from Los Angeles CA?

anne maglisceau Apr 28, 2011 at 02:11 PM

Did you and the group participate in the formal and informal dining on the nights the were scheduled for the group's dining room? Did you wish for warm clothing in order to enjoy being outside during the crossing. Any other tips from one who has been there, done that? Thanks
