Road Scholar
Program #10034RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

To Judith Tabert I look forward to meeting you Sept 21. Hope Air France gets you there on time. I am flying from Denver, Co. on Icelandair to Iceland and then Paris. Lynn Forsberg

I used my Ipad mini last year on the RS trip to Florence. It took great photos and could send emails. I bought a handbag that it slips into easily and will be secure and easy to use. I will do that again in Paris.

janet hunt Sep 17, 2014 at 08:43 AM

Does the hotel have computers available to send emails to family? I do not plan on bringing any electronics.
Road Scholar Sep 17, 2014 at 02:51 PM

Le Patio Saint Antoine does not have a public computer, though WI-FI access is available in all guestrooms, as well as the lobby. The group leader is available for general questions and could most likely direct you to a local internet cafe.

I am a little concerned about Merry Clark's comments. Any other opinions?
Merry Clark Sep 16, 2014 at 05:31 PM

just my humble opinion -- I just had higher expectations

janet hunt Sep 16, 2014 at 02:41 PM

My friend, Debbie Lebo and I are signed up for this trip on Nov 1. Would love to hear from anyone else going this time or hear any words of wisdom. Never been to France.
Charlotte MacNeice Sep 16, 2014 at 05:34 PM

I am also going on the trip to Paris on November 1. I am flying from Philadelphia on USAir, arriving at CDG 6:55 am. I'd share a taxi to the hotel if others arrived sort of chose to that time. Where are you and Debbie flying from? Charlotte MacNeice
janet hunt Sep 16, 2014 at 05:50 PM

I am coming Huntsville, AL - Chicago to CDG and arrive around 9:40a.m. Debbie will be arriving from Dulles around 8:30. You probably won't want to wait for us. But if you do, we can travel to the hotel together. Because taxi is so much I was thinking we might try another way. Are you traveling alone?
Charlotte MacNeice Sep 17, 2014 at 06:51 AM

Good to hear back from you. I am traveling by myself. So far I am planning to take the Air France bus to Gare de Lyon, which doesn't look very far from the hotel. I hope I'm not too jet-lagged! Perhaps more people will post messages here, and we'll all find others for a taxi. This is my first trip to Paris, but my second trip with Road Scholar.

Merry Clark Sep 15, 2014 at 12:56 AM

For the price, I I honestly think that the hotel could be at least four stars
Lynn Forsberg Sep 15, 2014 at 11:03 AM

Are you on the trip Sept. 20 - 28? I am on that one. Lynn Forsberg
Judith A Trabert Sep 18, 2014 at 10:07 PM

Lynn, My friend/neighbor Cathy and I are on the Sept 20 trip. We are flying out of JFK Sat. night. Just got an alarming email from Air France that our flight will prob be affected by pilot strike. AAK. Will talk with RS travel in the morning. Hope to meet you.

Merry Clark Sep 15, 2014 at 12:51 AM

Not too happy with the lack of welcome at Le Patio and the lack of personal assistance at the outset of this program.
Carole Stevens Sep 15, 2014 at 12:18 PM

I totally agree with you. I attended this program 2 years ago and my least favorite of 26 RS programs.
Merry Clark Sep 15, 2014 at 12:42 PM

listed as a more popular program but "independent" means you are on your own.

Kevin OReilly Sep 05, 2014 at 01:16 PM

I will be arriving at CDG at 11;30 AM on Sunday the 7th. Looking to share a taxi to our hotel. Kevin O'Reilly
