I'll be arriving September 8 @ 4:10 PM on United Airlines. Would anyone like to share a taxi ride to the Novotel?

Going on the 09/22-10/1 tour. Am thinking about taking "A Fabulous Country Tour" a four-hour excursion to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre and Montmorency Falls offered by Les Tours Du Vieux-Quebec after conclusion of the program. Has anyone done this day trip?

Is anyone arriving on August 12 in Ottawa around 3pm? I would like to share a cab to the hotel.

Dick Bulova Jul 12, 2013 at 06:26 PM

We plan to drive from Syracuse, NY to Ottawa, ON. Can we leave our car at the hotel we'll be beginning? What are options for returning from Quebec City at program's end (rail, bus)?
Donald Niemi Aug 03, 2014 at 06:37 PM

I just checked rail and bus schedules. (We're from near Peoria and also plan to leave our car in Ottawa.) There's a train at 7:45 AM, which is probably too early. The next train is at 12:45 PM, which doesn't get to Ottawa until 18:52. The bus schedule is better. Leave at 08:30, 09:30, or 10:30 ... change busses in Montreal ... arrive in Ottawa 6 hours later (i.e. 14:30, 15:30, or 16:30). The bus service is Greyhound Canada. Another option is a one-way car rental. That might make sense for two couples to do. Let's confer on this when we're in Ottawa. Safe Travel!

Just received the detailed itinerary. The topics, such as a comparison of of US/Canadian health care, sound very timely and interesting. My husband and I feel like we learn so much, on Road Scholar tours. Heading north in August, from our home in Florida, will be great!

I am going on the Aug. trip too! Avoiding the TX. heat will be great!

This was a great excursion and I learned so much about our Canadian neighbors. Would love to move there! The educators and guides were so knowledgeable and friendly. They love what they do and were so willing to share and discuss. I was very impressed. The tour sites were fascinating and we had a good amount of time on our own. Would highly recommend this trip for someone interested in learning about these cities in Canada as well as a good bit of Canadian history, lifestyle and governance.

Thank-you! I'm going in Aug. Glad to read such a good review!
