My friend and I are coming by train which arrives around 10:00 p.m., so we decided to come a day early. I called the Manoir to ask about a room, and was quoted 195 (forgot to ask if US or CDD). I later found lower prices on Priceline, but being mildly miffed that the Manoir wouldn't give us the same price Priceline would, I booked a nearby, less expensive, hotel. FYI!

2 book comments: I read Louise Penny's: Long way home, which made me want to see the territory she so elegantly describes. She,s a Canadian mystery writer.

Oops! here,s the second: our public library did not have Hoare's boo: the Whale,, but found it on Kindle. Cheaper than hardcover, and since I'm bringing the iPad, no extra weight.

Hello All! I called the tadoussac hotel to check if the pool would be open. They said it opens the 24th which is Quebec Independence Day. Re the 24th, they have a bonfire and music on the beach in celebration! What fun, wear blue not red!

By the way, the 24th of June is St. Jean Batiste Day -- BIG celebrations everywhere!

We are arriving on United Airlines 4519 at 4:31 PM. Anyone interested in sharing a taxi? Henry Rakoff

Hi all, I'm arriving on Saturday and staying an extra day at the end, any ideas from previous visits?
Betty Lalonde Jun 09, 2014 at 11:58 AM

I also will be arriving on Sat. about noon and staying after for a day.
Barbara McKee Jun 09, 2014 at 05:42 PM

Great Betty! Maybe we can have dinner or breakfast together. I'll leave my room # at the front desk!
Betty Lalonde Jun 10, 2014 at 09:14 AM

My plane arrives at 11:35, if you are arriving about that time perhaps we could share a taxi to the Manoir Victoria. I'm from eastern Ontario.
Barbara McKee Jun 10, 2014 at 04:53 PM

I'm arriving from the USA at 1 pm Sat 21, so I don't think a shared taxi would work unfortunately!

I would like to spend some time in Quebec City on my own before this starts, maybe practice speaking French. Does anyone want to do this also?
Rosemary Foster May 01, 2014 at 04:06 PM

My thoughts exactly. I found a nice-looking appartment on airbnb, right in the old city. Interested in sharing?
Rosemary Foster May 04, 2014 at 05:18 PM

Ellen, I sent you a message that may be sitting in your spam folder.
Ellen Phillips May 08, 2014 at 01:44 PM

Yes! It was in spam but now I see it because I logged into RS.
Ellen Phillips May 08, 2014 at 01:47 PM

I made a reservation at the same hotel RS is going to but but I check in June 18 (Manoir Victoria). Airbnb would be fine - can you send me link to look?
Ellen Phillips May 08, 2014 at 01:49 PM

My regular email is ellendphillips@gmail.com. I won't get email thru RS unless I log on. Are you studying French?

I generally prefer small group activities. How many people generally attend this program?
