Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am looking forward to the Grand Canyon on July 7. I am 10 years old and am hoping that there will be other kids my age there. My name is Charles and I am from Massachusetts.

Back from the trip July 7. Well done, be flexible, the hotel is fine but a big surprise. Bring something for kids to do in the car, its a bit of a trio
Joann robison Jul 19, 2014 at 02:45 PM

Fair amount of driving to get to many of the activities.

Is anyone else signed up for 27 Jul? My wife, 2 grandkids, and I will be on that trip.
Jay Crane Jul 13, 2014 at 07:46 PM

We are coming from NC. Grandson, 12, from PA joining us. Excited
Bill Thaler Jul 14, 2014 at 09:12 AM

Good. See you there.

Glad to know there are others too. Are there any boys on the trip. My grandson, Charles, is 10 and from Massachusetts.

Hello to all who're on the June 27 - July 2 trip! My grandson (almost 11) and I are coming from Berkeley (flying from SFO on 6/27, then taking Van Go. Would love to hear from all who'll also be on this trip.
Sydney Daly May 27, 2014 at 02:31 PM

Hello, Monika. My 9 year old grandson and I are flying to Phoenix from Atlanta 6/27 and taking Van Go also. This is our first trip together and first Road Scholar program so we are eager to meet the group and explore western Grand Canyon.
monika eisenbud May 27, 2014 at 09:42 PM

Hi, Sydney. If you would like to exchange email info, we could share a bit more info before this exciting trip. Monika

Were you able to talk to the hotel? No one answers and no one replies to my email. Doesn't sound very organized to me. Experience?
Dottie Cernik May 14, 2014 at 05:51 PM

If it's the same hotel where we stayed last year, they were very unorganized. A few young girls seemed to be 'in charge' and we were not pleased with the lack of cleanliness in meeting room and motel room. Route 66 Motel was last year. There was NO cell service either.
Barbara Mehaffey May 14, 2014 at 05:52 PM

I have not talked with hotel. Their website gives pretty good description. Pretty basic accommodations but everything we will need! Only a month to go, the kids are excited.

Jennifer Beltz from our office just met with the staff of Grand Canyon Caverns yesterday about the summer intergenerational season. They are ready and excited for the eleven weeks of programs out in the wilds of western Arizona on old Route 66.
