Really looking foward to Slick Rock hiking trip. Has anyone done this trip before that would like to share some tips? Is anyone else going on this trip

I'm going on the Oct 11th trip, traveling from Miami. Does anyone have any travel suggestions on the cheapest way to get from Flagstaff to Page, Az? My first time- any suggestions on what to pack...hiking boots, day pack?

Great Lakes Airlines has promised to refund flight charges and we've rented a car to drive ourselves from Phoenix to Page on 10/5 and back again on 10/10 ~ with a scenic detour to see the Grand Canyon.

Wow, that's too bad! I would rent a car with you. However, turns out I'm not going in October, hoping to go in March. Enjoy!

Great Lakes Airlines sent us an email saying they've cancelled the flight on 10/5! Back to the drawing board!!!

I'm excited about the Oct 5-10 trip! For future reference, Great Lakes has only one flight to Page from Phoenix, which arrives @ 6:12 pm. There's also only one flight from Page to Phoenix and it leaves at 7 am. I was surprised by this because the online "Travel Details" section says that there are two Great Lakes flights each way between Page and Phoenix.
My friend and I will arrive sometime after 6:12 pm on 10/5 (if the flight is one time) and must leave well before breakfast on Friday, 10/10 to make the 7 am flight.

I plan to take the Oct. 12-17 trip, anyone I can share car expenses with from Page to Phoenix airport?
