See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We, Charles and Betty Stallings, are on the May 12 trip. We live in Pleasanton and Del Mar, Ca. We have traveled the world and somehow missed this beautiful Area. This is our first RS trip but we also have an inter generational one planned with our 11 yr.old granddaughter in June. Looking forward to meeting folks traveling with us.
Anna Bell Apr 12, 2014 at 06:44 PM

Hi Charles and Betty - I am also on the May 12 trip, so look forward to getting to know you. It is my first RS tour too, but the detailed info so far has given me confidence that this will be amazing. After our winter in Canada I am ready! Anna Bell
Gerald Cutler Apr 12, 2014 at 06:48 PM

Our first RS trip also, after lots of independent travel and recent tours.
Betty Stallings Apr 12, 2014 at 07:34 PM

Anna....where do you live in Canada?
Anna Bell Apr 12, 2014 at 11:02 PM

Hi Betty - I 'm in Kingston, Ontario.

Gerald Cutler Apr 10, 2014 at 02:57 PM

My wife Nancy and I are on this May 12th program. Wondering if there are any bridge players in the group?
Bob Shapiro Apr 10, 2014 at 04:35 PM

We play bridge, but its been a while.
Gerald Cutler Apr 11, 2014 at 03:34 PM

Good. Maybe we'll play if we have energy after hiking. Looking forward to meeting you.

Bob Shapiro Apr 01, 2014 at 01:14 PM

I last visited this area about 50 years ago, and I want my wife to experience the beauty.

Anne Gardepe Mar 15, 2014 at 04:26 PM

We participated in this one a few years ago and LOVED it! I can only hope y'all get the Bests as leaders. If so, tell them John and Anne send fond greetings!
I blogged this program at or at the Participant Blog section of the Road Scholar site. Enjoy Color Country!
Sylvie Trepanier Mar 16, 2014 at 04:46 PM

read your blog and am now more eager than ever to go!
Anne Gardepe Mar 17, 2014 at 08:26 AM

Wonderful! It is probably one of our top 3 or 4 of the over-20 we've done!

Anna Bell Mar 14, 2014 at 11:34 PM

Hi from Canada! I am booked for the May 12-19 tour and am looking for a female to share accomodations. After the winter we are having here this trip can't come soon enough!! - Anna Bell
Sylvie Trepanier Mar 15, 2014 at 09:49 AM

Sorry, I already have a roommate, but I look forward to meeting you.
Anna Bell Mar 17, 2014 at 11:12 PM

Gerald: Don't know anyone who's been on this trip, but my friends and I have heard great reviews of it. Looking forward to meeting you and your partner. We'll be a group of 4 - a friend of mine and another friend and her husband.

Sylvie Trepanier Jan 07, 2014 at 08:35 AM

Glad to hear that the hotel was fine. I too was concerned when I saw some of the reviews on Trip Advisor as my group is staying an extra day.
John Collins Jan 07, 2014 at 09:00 AM

I called the Alexis Park Resort and voiced my concerns. I was told the 85% of the resort has been updated. The section that has yet to be is in the back of the resort, so I requested my room be at the front of the resort, which is also furthest from airport.

John Collins Jan 06, 2014 at 01:40 PM

Any thoughts on the hotel they use in Vegas?
Jane Schmidt Jan 06, 2014 at 01:48 PM

If it's the Alexis Park Resort, it was pretty marvelous. There was a bedroom, livingroom, kitchen area and bath. Pretty posh. When the trip ended a group of us also had dinner there, which was nice too.
Jane Schmidt Jan 06, 2014 at 01:48 PM

Also, it was about a mile from the Strip is you chose to walk there (godknowswhy) as I'm not crazy about Vegas.
John Collins Jan 06, 2014 at 02:34 PM

Thank you Janet my wife and I are doing a trip in June and we extended our stay.
John Collins Jan 06, 2014 at 02:35 PM

I then checked tripadvisor and saw many negative reviews so I became conserned.
