ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.

Jeanne Roppolo May 15, 2014 at 09:48 AM

in the process of applying for the travel visas to China & Russia...has anyone completed this task yet?

Jeanne Roppolo Jun 18, 2014 at 08:09 AM

Hello, according to GenVisa, my paperwork is on the way back to me. Do you have your flight plans? I leave Chicago on the 27 & have to overnight in Hong Kong. Where are you traveling from? Can't wait to meet.

Frank Yee Mar 03, 2014 at 03:01 PM

Thanks Gail & Lynda for your helpful insights! My concerns at this point are regarding airfare. RS is unable, at this time, to quote me the cost of my roundtrip flight from Chicago. Hard to budget without the facts. Where did you 2 ladies depart from?
Gail Upton Oct 12, 2013 at 11:38 PM

Paul and I flew from LA as directed and included in the quoted price... and we flew on our own from Portland, OR the day before the 1 AM flt from LA. Flights went smoothly. Plenty of time and no worries.

Thinking of this program for my 1st travel adventure with Road Scholar. Any thoughts or advice?
Gail Upton Oct 04, 2013 at 07:52 PM

Its a wonderful and fascinating program ... tho quite on the pricy side. It was Very well organized with delightful leaders. If RS is willing to let you read my post-survey, I give permission. Applying for the Russian visa is daunting but doable. Help is available. If your return flight has a stop in Istanbul, I Highly recommend your extending 4-7 days. RS will help you with flight change and hotel suggestions and reservations, and I can provide more info if you choose to do this. Whatever you decide, have fun!!! Gail Upton

We're on the July 4, 2013 and staying over 4 days in Istanbul. Would love to be in touch with you, Lynda, and any others on the Trans Siberian Railway.
Lynda Hammond Jun 15, 2013 at 06:53 PM

Good evening Gail. Well the time is getting close. Travel safe. Lynda

Lynda Hammond Jan 24, 2013 at 07:15 PM

I on the 4 July 2013 trip and extension to St. Petersburg. Is there anyone else out there in cyberspace? Lynda
Jessie Lang Jan 24, 2013 at 07:45 PM

Lynda--It was a good trip. (July '12) The cabins are prety "cozy" tho. You'll have a better view from your cabin if you can nab the bunk that faces forward--my view waswhere we'd been.
Lynda Hammond Jan 24, 2013 at 07:50 PM

Jessie, Thanks for the tip!
