Road Scholar
Program #19406RJ
21 Days | 20 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am doing the 9/11/14 trip. Anyone going at that time? Thoughts on the pollution problem in Beijing?

Norma Oliver Feb 20, 2014 at 09:41 AM

We have about 5 days of independent time available prior to meeting with the group in Beijing - anyone have some great ideas of place/s to see that are high on beauty and low on pollution?
Norma Oliver Feb 27, 2014 at 08:41 PM

We've decided to discover more of Beijing during our extra days before our tour begins on 4/4.

My wife and I are on the May 15, 2014 trip. We are doing our own travel arrangements, does anybody know to which of the three Beijing airports the group will arrive to?
Paul Muench Nov 24, 2013 at 10:36 PM

We are on the April 4 trip and are using Road Scholar travel. They have us going into PEK. Hope this helps.
Deborah Rie Jan 11, 2014 at 04:21 PM

Paul, We are going on the April trip. Have you found anyone else who is going?
Paul Muench Jan 11, 2014 at 08:56 PM

No. My partner, Janet Lyman and I are going out of Dulles direct. This is our second Road Scholar tour.
Norma Oliver Jan 21, 2014 at 02:13 PM

My husband, Clive, and I are going on the Apr. 4 trip. We're using a travel company based in CA for our travel arrangements. We'll be flying into Shanghai a week early and travel independently before meeting the group at our hotel in Beijing on the 4th. This is our 1st Road Scholar trip - looking forward to a great time.
Norma Oliver Jan 21, 2014 at 02:17 PM

Roberto, you should be able to call Road Scholar for info on your arrival airport in Beijing.
Roberto Bastidas Jan 30, 2014 at 12:00 AM

Thank you for all your comments and advice, we call Road Scholar and found that we will arrive at PEK. We bought our tickets by Travelocity United Airlines. Thank you all.
Roberto Bastidas Jan 30, 2014 at 12:08 AM

I am on the Oct. 10-30 trip. Is anyone on the direct flight from Newark with an 11:50 am departure?
Gregory Nulle Sep 25, 2013 at 09:47 AM

Yes. I'm on 10/10 trip. I'm driving down from Scranton, PA and parking at Newark. If you're not too far out of the way maybe I could pick you up.

Allison Tepper Sep 16, 2013 at 08:46 PM

Hello. Is anyone traveling from Chicago on October 15?

David Wice Sep 10, 2013 at 05:35 PM

Betsy & David Wice, Philadelphia, on the Oct 10-30 program. We are booked from Phila. to D.C.and then direct to Beijing by United. Are there others on that route?
