Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.

We live in Atlanta and San Miguel de Allende, MX and are looking forward to the Sept12-26 Ireland trip. We are arriving in Killarney a day early, staying at The Arbutus.
Susan Christensen Jul 29, 2014 at 04:37 PM

Looking forward to meeting you. What is your companion's name? Have you been to Ireland before? Somebody out there will be assigned me as a roomie

Susan Christensen Jul 29, 2014 at 01:33 AM

Hello this is Susan and this is my first RS trip. I am recently widowed and am 64 and a friendly lively person, and taking this plunge to travel. On Sept 12- 26 Ireland trip. Like to meet some new friends and plan ahead for first day in Killarney as trip begins.Advice?

Peggy C Jul 20, 2014 at 04:14 PM

We are on the Ireland trip that begins 9/26. Is anyone else going on this trip?
Marilyn Harris Jul 29, 2014 at 10:19 PM

see you on the plane. I'm coming drom Atlanta.

Kathy Trent Jul 12, 2014 at 02:07 AM

Anyone going on 9/4 trip? I'll be traveling alone from SFO on United.

Jim Kidney Jul 11, 2014 at 12:02 PM

On Ireland trip from 8/28 to 9/11. Looking for ideas for use of free time. Should we book events beforehand? Ticketmaster lists Celtic Steps in Killarney; also Book of Kells, Riverdance, Avenue Q, and horseshow in Dublin.
Coyla Rankin Jul 12, 2014 at 12:12 AM

Book of Kells I've heard is worth the visit. There might be better dance performances than Riverdance, but they are entertaining. Avenue Q is a hoot. I'm going to do a day trip to County Wicklow and Glendalough.
Virginia Floyd Jul 29, 2014 at 02:57 PM

We went to see the Book of Kells on our trip last May. That was one of the highlights of our trip.

DIANE CORSON Jul 09, 2014 at 02:58 PM

I'm Diane. My husband Craig and I are going on the Ireland trip departing 9/25. Anybody else on this one? We are leaving from Minneapolis and will connect to the overnight flight to Shannon from Newark.
Marilyn Harris Jul 09, 2014 at 10:40 PM

Me, too! 9/25 that is. But from Atlanta. I'm concerned about cold and rain.
Peggy C Jul 10, 2014 at 08:04 PM

My husband Steve and I are going on this trip. We look forward to meeting you and exploring Ireland together.

Coyla Rankin Jul 07, 2014 at 05:58 PM

Anyone else booked for the August 7-21 trip to Ireland?
Jean Jalufka Jul 07, 2014 at 11:44 PM

I am going on this trip to Ireland. I am arriving one day early arriving Shannon on August 7th. I plan on visiting Bunratty Castle and Folk Park which is about 6 miles from Shannon Airport that day. Will meet the arriving group the next morning. I live in Spokane, WA and this will be my 19th Road Scholar trip. Looking forward to meeting you! Looks like it has been cool and rainy all summer.
Coyla Rankin Jul 09, 2014 at 12:12 PM

Great, I look forward to meeting you. This is my 3rd RS trip, first trip to Ireland, but have been many other places either independently or with other companies.

Laura Peyton Jul 06, 2014 at 10:37 AM

Is anyone on the Board going to Ireland on the July 17-31 trip? This is our first Road Scholar and would love to know who will be in our group.
Ann Marie McLaughlin Jul 06, 2014 at 04:22 PM

You will love it. We went last August and Steven was our guide. It was beautiful, educational, and romantic. The people we met were open and very willing to share their heritage. Steven took us to places that he found interesting and off the customary routes. We loved everything. My advice is to bring clothing for the cold and rain, and the pubs don't usually have the real music until after 10PM (the Irish don't sleep) so take a nap before you go out and enjoy every aspect of this life.
Laura Peyton Jul 06, 2014 at 10:49 PM

Thanks so much for the feedback, Ann Marie. It looks like an amazing trip. Cold? We are in Atlanta. We don't know cold in July!
Ann Marie McLaughlin Jul 07, 2014 at 08:12 AM

Laura, I live in South Florida. Ireland was cold in August.
