Anyone else traveling with a CPAP machine on April 25 trip?
Nancy L Apr 14, 2015 at 11:45 AM

Hi Mary Jane, We're traveling with the June 11 trip and no one in my group will be taking a CPAP.

Nancy L Apr 12, 2015 at 12:16 PM

Nancy and group are looking forward to Peru/Boliva in June. Looking forward to meeting new friends!
Pamela Phillips Apr 12, 2015 at 02:48 PM

I look forward to meeting you; I'll be there in June too. I'm flying direct from DFW.
Nancy L Apr 12, 2015 at 05:57 PM

Hi Pamela! Great to know that someone else is with the group. For a while my group and I thought we were the only ones! We're flying in from CVG.
Pamela Phillips Apr 13, 2015 at 08:36 AM

How many are in your group?
Nancy L Apr 13, 2015 at 01:56 PM

There are 6 of us. Myself and my roommate from college. We reconnected last year. Her name is Ann. Then there's Becky and her husband, Mike. Becky and I work together. And finally, Becky's son and his significant other Emily are joining us too. Ann and I are teachers. Becky is a retired nurse and now is an instructional classroom aide. Are you traveling with someone or singularly. I'm usually traveling alone so I'm excited to have a group on my travels this time!
Pamela Phillips Apr 13, 2015 at 02:38 PM

I'm on my own this time; I am also a teacher - high school.
Nancy L Apr 13, 2015 at 05:43 PM

Ann teaches middle school. Becky and I both work in a career tech school for high school students. We only house juniors and seniors, and I'm the senior English instructor. Normally, I don't use a travel agency when I travel--like to do my own plans, but it was nice to plan through Road Scholar with a group. We're looking forward to having a good time, meeting our guides and immersing into the history. I haven't had anyone else respond to my message so maybe it's the 7 of us! We're excited and looking forward to an adventurous get-away.
Pamela Phillips Apr 13, 2015 at 05:56 PM

I have had great experiences w/RS - very well planned w/insider info. I also plan my own travel - and took 22 students on an exchange trip to a small town in Germany last summer, then staying in hostels. Sometimes it's nice to let someone else do the work.
Nancy L Apr 13, 2015 at 06:08 PM

Good to know you've had good experiences with RS. I'd really like it if they had an app or a way to message without having to sign in to respond. Maybe I just haven't figured all this out yet! Anyway, I've done a student/teacher exchange with Argentina since 2008. Love it. Agree with you on letting someone else do the work. We did have a problem with flights but everything worked out. RS was going to short us a day in La Paz, but we're good to go now. We also found it was less than half price to book the main flight ourselves through delta.com than it was with RS. Regardless--no complaints. Our last day is May 19 with students and believe me, I'm about as anxious as the kids to get this year wrapped up!

Steve & Bonnie from Springboro, OH are looking forward to our trip to the Sacred Valley in February and to meeting new friends.

Barbara Schierstein Sep 25, 2014 at 04:04 PM

Sounds like a great group. You are smart to give yourself more time to get used to the altitude. I'm beginning to wish I had. See you all soon.
Pat Kosters Sep 25, 2014 at 08:17 PM

Leslye and I are just discussing altitude sickness medications. I'm taking both Acetazolamide and Dexamethasone. Perhaps we won't need it but I'd rather be safe.

Pat Kosters Sep 19, 2014 at 02:36 PM

Hi Diana, Barbara & Leslye, I'm on the same trip rooming with Leslye but leaving Oct 1st from Sioux Falls, SD via Dallas for an extra night in Cusco. See you all there...

Leslye Lounsberry Sep 15, 2014 at 02:07 PM

Hi Diana and Barbara, I am on the same trip but I will be leaving a little earlier spending an additional night in Lima and Cusco. I look forward to meeting you both.

Diana Gonzales Sep 06, 2014 at 04:55 PM

I will be leaving on Oct 2nd out of Dallas, I'd like to meet others on that flight. This is my 1st Road Scholar tour and am excited to join the group.
Barbara Schierstein Sep 12, 2014 at 04:57 PM

I'm on that trip also, but going out of Miami. I look forward to meeting you and the rest of the group.

Sara Bailey Aug 18, 2014 at 01:50 PM

This was a wonderful trip! Just be sure to take into account the high altitudes. The leaders were great and the people of both countries were very friendly and helpful.
