Good afternoon group. Really looking forward to our adventure in Tomahawk. This is my first RS class. I wanted to let y'all know what I found this morning at our library. I was looking at magazines there that I don't subscribe. Picked up the Sept '15 Sky & Telescope. On page #26 they say,"September's Total Lunar Eclipse, the whole western world can see the eclipse of September 27-28." That will occur during our tenure at Treehaven! I've never done any astrophotography, but I'm hoping to try. And learn from the rest of the group. This could be one of the high points of our class. Let's all pray for a clear sky! The timing is very good for us seniors: starts at 7:40pm and ends before midnight!
Looking forward to meeting y'all! Joel

I'm attending the Sept 2015 session. Any bike riders out there. There are a couple rails to trails in the area. Also golf and hue some. Appears to be ample free time.

This is my 2nd time at this program. Sorry that I don't play golf, and since I am flying from Maine to Green Bay, I won't be bringing my bike. I am driving from Green Bay to TreeHaven though. My experience from last year is that there is free time some days that would allow time for biking. Also the weekend in the middle allows plenty of time for golf, additional sightseeing etc. It is an excellent program. One of my best as a matter of fact.

Thinking of Driving from Olathe, KS to Program. Leaving Sat Prior to Sun pm meet at Tomahawk. GPS Says it is a 10 Hr trip.

I'm also driving but from Iowa and even though not as long a trip as yours I am planning on leaving on Satruday and stopping over in Wabasha, MN to go to the National Eagle Center and then finish up on Sunday. Wabasha isn't really out of the way if you go I-35 north and then 90 through Rochester.

I will be flying into Green Bay for this program. Are there any other roadscholars that will be traveling from Green Bay to this program? cassie witteborg-wallace, wittwall@gmail.com

I see your note. I always wonder who is coming. Welcome. I am driving from Milwaukee the day prior and don't plan to go via Green Bay, but that will put you closer then me to the program.
Joann Reynolds Jun 25, 2014 at 11:24 AM

Actually, I should clarify, it me (John Roach) not Joann who will be coming, my wife Joann is not going on this trip.
