I would like to hear from someone who went on this trip in May.
Suggestions for size of suitcase and how to carry camera, and if a computer is necessary.

I am a novice with my camera - barely do more than set it on automatic. Is this program too advanced for me?

I am scheduled for the October Trip, and would like to have contact with someone else who is taking the tour. I plan to arrive a day early, and would be happy to share connections to the airport

Our group of four has booked our own flights for the September trip. Rather than mess with a bus, we booked a taxi from shannonairportcab.com to take us directly to The Falls Hotel. Total fare for all of us is 68 Euros.

Interesting post. We are leaving from NY on Sept 9. I have questions about the kind and size of luggage. How are you carrying your photography equipment? Are you taking a computer? Thanks.
Sunny Archibald Jul 26, 2013 at 02:34 PM

Gene, we are leaving a day early and staying a day after. in order to carry my tripod, I will be using a 27" suitcase. I am carrying my photography equipment and laptop in a carryon roller bag. I hope this helps.
Gene Haddon Aug 07, 2013 at 07:36 PM

Thanks, Sunny. I'll probably take the iPad & leave the old computer at home. Too heavy.I'm looking forward to meeting you. I'm probably the oldest old lady on the trip, but enthusiastic.

I have signed up for the May 6-17 trip & would like to hear from others attending at that time. Mary Ann from Atlanta,GA

Did you go? What is a SMALL suitcase? Did you really need dress up clothes?
Gene Haddon Jul 11, 2013 at 02:09 PM

We are going in September. How much photography equipment is good? Thanks
Margaret Rogers Aug 26, 2013 at 11:13 AM

How much equipment is good is always the question. :-) How much you travel with depends upon what you have, what you thnk you'll be shooting and (most importantly) how much you can manage carrying on your own. I will be bringing one camera body, an 18-200mm all around lens, a 10-24mm wide angle lens, a 70-300mm telephoto lens, extra batteries & charger, several memory cards, a tripod & my laptop. I will decide each day what lenses I think I will need based on that day's shooting.
Gene Haddon Aug 28, 2013 at 07:36 PM

That sounds good. I'm not that strong, but it will be fun none the less.
