I have just signed up for the Dec 4, 2016 program and would be interested in communicating with another woman about the possibility of sharing a room. Email me at ceczander8@gmail.com

Hi Cecilia: I am surprised my name is still listed for the Mighty Moe program. I am not going to take this adventure. Have a GREAT time.

Hello. My husband and I are looking forward to Pearl Harbor next month. There are a lot of optional activities and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions.
William Pierson Nov 09, 2015 at 06:46 PM

Aloha Pat!

One of the most interesting optional activities is a trip to the Polynesian Culture Center. It is a day-long trip, but very worthwhile. You can obtain advance tickets on line, and there are possibly some discounts or extras available. Also, if you have the time, the Bishop Museum on the west side of Oahu is a priceless venture into the Polynesian history, and stories of the Hawaiian royalty. While on board, you'll have an opportunity to attend the Dec. math memorial at Pearl, and the is well worth the time, followed by a visit to the Arizona Memorial and the outstanding program. Aloha and best wishes for a wonderful trip.

Aloha, Bill. Thanks for your response. The info you provided is very helpful. Thanks also for the reminder about heavy-duty sun screen. I'll need that and a hat, for sure. I'm really looking forward to the trip. Again, thanks for your prompt reply. Aloha, Mary

Aloha Mary!

Temp is moderate: overnight 60s to 80 daytime. If you're lucky there'll be some trade winds. I never took any heavyclothging, other than a sport coat and slacks for evenings out and our parties. Light rain jacket would be good. Be careful of sun; screen should be powerful stuff.Follow you're a leader's advice. They'll share their experience with you. Best wishes for a happy tour, and you'll meet some wonderful people.

Aloha.

Bill

Aloha, Bill! Thanks for your response. It's very helpful. And thanks for the reminder of the powerful sun screen. I'll be using that and wearing a hat, for sure. I'm really looking forward to this adventure. My husband was a Navy vet and was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1943-46. Thanks again. Aloha, Mary

Does anyone know what kind of temperatures/weather conditions we might expect for the December, 2015, Pearl Harbor program? I like to travel light, but am not sure what kinds of clothes are best--rain jacket? short sleeved stuff? Any helpful hints are appreciated. Thanks! Mary Mahoney, Atlanta, GA

Hey Mary! Sorry I did not get back to you sooner...I'm packed and ready to go. Thanks for your response...look forward to seeing you at the Friday mixer. Nancy, Maysville, KY

Hey Nancy!
I am happy for you and your new adventure. You'll do great, and you'll be among so many great people on the Mighty Mo. Age is not a factor unless it limits you in your activities. I quit when I was 85 because I couldn't handle the flight getting from Colorado to Honolulu (oxygen needs), but only after I had been 7 times. It is a wonderful way to truly feel like a patriot.
Best wishes and go for it all!
Bill Pierson, Denver, CO
