11 Days | 10 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Anyone have any info on tipping on the ship? usually that is handled by Road Scholar as part of our cost.

Thanks,

I'm on a wait list for September (my fingers are crossed)...Did anyone have a good time? I'm surprised there aren't any reviews or photos posted yet.

We are going in August. You will definitely hear about it from me!

Diane Drott May 06, 2013 at 10:34 AM

My friend Carolyn Latta and I will be making this trip, Anne. We are both from the suburbs of Philadelphia. I also would like to know our companions from Road Scholar taking this trip.
Anne Gardepe May 18, 2013 at 05:14 PM

My husband, John, and I are so excited about this trip! Have you done many RS programs before? Have you been to Alaska? Are you doing the extension program in San Francisco? Let's keep in touch.
Diane Drott May 19, 2013 at 12:04 PM

Good to hear from you. We have never been to Alaska before. We are not doing an extension. I have travelled to Italy, Tanzania/Zanzibar, and French Polynesia via Road Scholar. They've all been well run and very enjoyable.
Anne Gardepe Jun 14, 2013 at 09:12 AM

OK, I think I just repeated myself somewhat. My husband and I have not done much on the international scene except a bit of Europe when he was in the Navy WAY back when. We have done over 15 Road Scholar trips but all domestic. We LOVE the National Park ones we have done!
Anne Gardepe Jun 19, 2013 at 03:57 PM

Hi, Diane. I received an email with your message but have not found it on the discussion board. We went approximately two weeks later in the year than this one. Our tips would be layering to prepare for cold and also rain gear is pretty important. Hope that helps!

Anne Gardepe Mar 15, 2013 at 04:08 PM

Would love to hear from others who are registered for this one!
Patrick Scollin Jul 20, 2013 at 04:05 PM

My wife Fran and I will be on the pre SF tour and then the Alaska trip. This will be our fourth RS trip and we have enjoyed everyone of them. Looking forward to meeting all the RS folks.
