July 8 priogram, Steve and Gloria Larson are from TN. Gloria has asthma. Please try to refrain from wearing perfumes or scented products. Thanks.

Hillary Cressey Jul 01, 2014 at 07:49 AM

Hello, everyone! Only one week to go for the July 8 Program. I'm a retired Biology Prof & on my first "big trip" since retiring. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Glenna White Jun 27, 2014 at 06:04 PM

Anybody making the September 30 trip? I'm a bit afraid of what the weather might do, particularly Cornwall. Would love to go in September but can't swing it. Any insights welcome! Also considering the Lakes District trip-

Sue Houge Jun 13, 2014 at 11:41 AM

Rob Laurence Jul 06, 2014 at 04:54 PM

Hi Sue. I just enrolled enrolled in the same trip. I live in Richmond VA, and am very much looking forward to the adventure.

Gloria Larson Jun 12, 2014 at 07:11 PM

Steve is a retired elec engineer. I love to play duplicate bridge, quilt, go on trips (esp Maui in the winter), solve word puzzles, visit 8 yr old g'daughter, & play board and card games. Looking forward to fun with the group!

We are registered for the program that starts July 8. Are VISA credit cards accepted at most of the local pubs & shops, or should we expect to mainly use cash at these places?
Janet Connors Jun 11, 2014 at 09:35 PM

Hi Gloria,
Janet Connors Jun 11, 2014 at 09:36 PM

Visa is everywhere! I didn't even get any Euros until I arrived at Heathrow. Generally I purchased everything with my Visa.

Pamela Gibson May 27, 2014 at 09:05 PM

I am going on the Sep 2-15 trip (I'm excited, so posting this early!). Would like to hear from others going on this trip.
Rob Laurence Jul 06, 2014 at 04:53 PM

Hi Pamela. I just enrolled in the Sep 2-15 trip as well. Looking forward to it, and meeting the group.

Gayle & Bull Sheets May 15, 2014 at 01:40 PM

Checking in from Fort Myers, FL. We are on the 7/8/14 trip. I will be testing a brand new knee.
Margaret Forbes Jun 06, 2014 at 04:17 PM

Hey there Gayle and Bull! Looking forward to meeting you in England! Who has the new knee? Bet you have worked hard in rehab! I am a Physical Therapist; love working with motivated folks! Now we know there are at least 5 of us on the trip! Love to hear from others.
Gayle & Bull Sheets Jun 06, 2014 at 06:03 PM

I am an aged fighter pilot with a knee (March). "Bull" was my call sign which has somehow survived over the years. We live in south FL where Gayle is an avid birder and naturalist.
Lisa Borden Jun 07, 2014 at 12:41 PM

I am also going on the July 8th departure and so looking forward to the trip! I am sure you will do fine with the knee! I had minor knee surgery last summer and did a 12 mile hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains 6 weeks later!
Margaret Forbes Jun 07, 2014 at 01:50 PM

Hi Lisa! So glad you responded to our conversation! Are you traveling alone? I am. I have a trip planned for the Fall and want to include some hiking in the Blue Rigde Mountains. Love to get your recommendations when we meet in England. Just a month away!
Lisa Borden Jun 08, 2014 at 07:27 AM

Yes, traveling without my husband......somebody has to stay home and work....smile! I will be glad to share hiking suggetions around the Asheville area......having been going there every summer for 14 years!
