Road Scholar
Program #2856RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We are going on this trip Feb 2-7., 2014 and really looking forward to visiting NO for the 1st time. This is our 2nd RS trip and can hardly wait!! Would like to connect with other folks who will be on this trip as well.
Kay Wisniewski Jan 30, 2014 at 09:06 PM

We are on the same trip but will arrive on the 1st and will stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton on that date. We hope to check in at the Sonesta early afternoon on Sunday. We have been on 21 RS trips but this is only the 2nd Signature City trip. I am looking forward to the food and signature cocktails of the city but worried about a weight gain from this trip. Luckily the hotel has a fitness room. Paul (and Kay Wisniewski)

I am very much looking forward to attending the New Orleans adventure beginning October 13, 2013. I've been to NO 5 times, once for pleasure, one convention held right after "9/11" and 3 times on business. Even though I am familiar with and know a lot about NO, I've loved all of my previous RS trips because of the wonderful educational content. I've traveled to Malta and Quebec City with RS. The Malta trip was exceptional! I will be traveling with my friend, Carole. We will also be going to the San Antonio trip in December!

Elaine - I'll be on the 10/13 trip to NO - and am interested in sharing a cab to the hotel - would you and Carole be interested in that? Also you will love San Antonio - I took that trip in March and it was my first RS trip and a great experience. Madeline R.
Elaine Semanik Sep 30, 2013 at 06:37 AM

Madeline - Our flight arrives at 10:16am - will you be there at that time? If so, certainly, we would be interested in sharing a cab to the hotel with you. Elaine
Elaine Semanik Sep 30, 2013 at 06:38 AM

The other option is the shuttle, but I haven't looked into it yet.
Madeline Rude Sep 30, 2013 at 07:42 PM

Elaine - my SW flight from Dallas arrives in NO at 11:55 a.m. not sure how this fits in with your schedule. But if we can share a cab that would be great. Look forward to hearing from you again.
Madeline Rude Oct 10, 2013 at 03:32 PM

Elaine - if we don't make a connection at the airport I'll look forward to meeting you and Carole at our sessions. Have a happy day!

Beth Dintenfass Jul 01, 2013 at 05:12 PM

I am going to New Orleans on 11/10/13- 11/15/13 trip and am anxious to have company along the way to enjoy it better! Anyone going on the same dates, please connect so we may share before and during.

Hi, This is my first trip with RS also. I look forward to making new friends who love the same interests as me.
Barbara Karpfinger Apr 12, 2013 at 03:59 PM

Hi Beth Dentenfass, sorry, I did not receive your comment. Can you send another?

Geri Gottbrath Feb 19, 2013 at 12:31 PM

Has anyone taken the shuttle van from the airport to the hotel? How many stops does it make before arriving at the Royal Sonesta?
Madeline Rude Sep 29, 2013 at 07:49 PM

Geri - if we can coordinate times maybe we can share a cab - my trip is 10/13 - when is yours? Madeline R.
