Program #12312RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My friend and I are attending September 21-27..coming in a day early to see the mansions in Newport before beginning our program. She's coming from Charlotte, NC and I'm coming in from Omaha. We plan on meeting at the airport and taking the shuttle to Newport. Any input on transport from the airport, or mansion tours.

If you have the opportunity, pay a visit to Cliff Walk; it is a pathway of the coastline that offers stunning ocean view.

I plan to attend Lobsters, Wineries, Food program Sept 7-13 2014. I would appreciate any info on transportation from Providence to Newport. Also getting to see the mansions in Newport before or after the course.

Pearl, you're going to have a great time except . . . the airport shuttle was terrible. The elderly man at the desk confused very easily even tho there were only two of us waiting (and waiting, and waiting!). Suggest just hop a taxi. Share if you can. It's worth starting your adventure on a positive note. Don't know how many folks complained about the shuttle at the opening orientation. Hope that helps.

I went on the New England trip last week (10-6 to 10-12) and it was super! One problem -- I have a great pic of fellow-traveler, Marlene, at the Vodka Distillery but her email address bounces back. If anyone on the trip has her email addy, pls respond to this trip discussion board.

I'm going in Sept and would like some input after you get back. Especially if you flew into Prvidence and
