When are cabin assignments made?
Ruthe Berman Aug 06, 2014 at 08:22 PM

We received our cabin assignments when we boarded the ship. I had requested a specific cabin beforehand (on the deck we had chosen) and that was the one I got. We took this trip in May and it was wonderful! Enjoy!

We are still looking for any one going on the Croatia trip Oct. 16. We are leaving from Chicago. Any one out there on this trip?
BRIAN FLORA Aug 21, 2014 at 12:35 AM

Donald, I am signed up for the Oct. 18 - 30 trip but am going over two days early. 10/16. Leave Orlando thru Dulles to Munich and on to Split. Going to decompress some before the action starts on the program.

Maxine Noll Aug 04, 2014 at 10:23 AM

Hi, I'm going on the Oct. 4th trip, leaving from Atlanta although live in Wilmington, NC. Anyone going on this date?
Barbara Bosse Aug 18, 2014 at 04:40 PM

Maxine, I just signed up for the Oct. 4th trip. I will be traveling solo from Seattle. This will be my first Road Scholar trip. I am going to the Cooking in Tuscany trip following this one so will be heading towards Lucca then.

Susan Levy Aug 04, 2014 at 08:22 AM

I also am in Atlanta ,going on Oct 18. Anyone going on that date ?
Karen Nicely Aug 04, 2014 at 09:03 AM

I am a single on the Sept 18-30 Croatia trip and Sept 30-Oct 3 extension. I would like to hear from participants who would like to join me for meals and time "on our own" to explore together.

Anyone plan to go swimming? Not sure if the water will be warm enough...but it sure looks beautiful and inviting.
Joyce Kinkead Aug 04, 2014 at 09:46 AM

On our May cruise, the water could be said not to be warm enough, but the captain dove in first. Gradually, almost everyone got in the water. Yes, it was nippy but beautiful and refreshing. The ship as flippers, masks (although not in best condition). Unfortunately, there is very little to see underwater. Coral is harvested for jewelry, which is also unfortunate. But the swimming was fun.
Hallie Hackenberger Aug 04, 2014 at 02:23 PM

Oh thanks for that information. The schedule looks pretty full but a dip would be welcome even if chilly! We Oregonians don't have warm seas either!
Joyce Kinkead Aug 04, 2014 at 02:51 PM

Exactly, Bear Lake (Utah) at 6000',where we summer, is always chilly.

I did this trip in April for my 70th birthday. I'd do it again in a wink. I collected photos of Croatia in 2014 to compare with pictures I took in 1967 on my way down the coast to Greece. Many changes. I'll try to post (they're on YouTube at if that will work.
Wayne Ruhl Aug 03, 2014 at 12:22 AM

Ann...beautiful pictures. Awesome before and after comparisons!

Wayne Ruhl Aug 02, 2014 at 07:21 PM

I am going on the Oct 11 trip. I live in Atlanta...look forward to meeting all who are on that trip.
Mary Ann L Aug 02, 2014 at 11:57 PM

Hi Wayne, I'm on the Oct.11 trip as well and also live in Atlanta. Are you going through Frankfurt by any chance?
Wayne Ruhl Aug 03, 2014 at 12:23 AM

Wayne Ruhl Aug 04, 2014 at 12:00 AM

Hope to see you on that flight
Hallie Hackenberger Aug 04, 2014 at 02:26 PM

Hum… I am going thru Frankfurt too from Portland, OR. I'll be in Frankfurt for 10/12 flight at 11:05A. Is it the same as you two?
Mary Ann L Aug 04, 2014 at 07:33 PM

Hallie & Wayne, I'll miss you on the flight over because I'm leaving a day early, Oct.9 but looking forward to meeting both you in Croatia.
