Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My husband and I will also be taking our first Road Scholar adventure beginning on June 13th. We will be spending a week on our own in Paris prior to joining the group at CDG airport on the 14th. We are from Southern California and are wondering where our fellow travelings are coming from. We look forward to meeting you all.

This is our first Road Scholar tour but not our first tour, and we have been to France and Europe many times. We're looking forward to this superbly designed tour and to meeting fellow travellers with interests in WWII, French history, art and food. Anyone else on this tour from Indiana?

We are looking forward to our first Road Scholar experience! This trip was perfect for us - World War II points of interest for Matt, and art, architecture and PARIS for me. We are reading, studying maps, watching documentaries and movies ("The Longest Day"), and doing what I call "virtual packing". What to take, what not to take . . . .

Just a postscript to my earlier post. My name doesn't show in my posts because we are married but have different last names. Confusing, yes! My name is Shery Stovall.

Reading Rick Steves" "Normandy & Brittany" on our Kindle. Tons of great background info on the region. We are looking forward to our trip and are trying to figure out what not to bring with us!! Too many electronic gadgets!

Same problem here. Would love to bring the iphone and ipad, but concerned about the data charges.

The trip was fabulous. WiFi is pretty easy to find, so your Ipad is all you need really. Most people on our trip brought some type of e-reader with WiFi. My Hotmail account worked fine Have fun!

In prepping for the Seine cruise part of this trip, we have found Mort Rosenbloom's 'The Secret Life of the Seine' to be a marvelous warm-up. The Audible version of Stephen Ambrose's 'D-Day, June 6, 1944...', while abridged, is also a good prep for the beaches aspect (though the print version gives maps that don't accommodate the Audible version).
And what are our fellow travelers up to?

First going to check the library for these and then buy them if necessary. Better get busy. September will be here before we know it!
