Program #12417RJ
13 Days | 12 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My husband and I will be part of this tour beginning April 17, 2015. I know there is a good possibility of rain and am wondering how to handle it. I have an easily packable jacket and a knee length rain coat. If I take the coat I will wear it on the plane so it's not a problem. So I'm wondering if it rains, how much time will we be outside so I know what kind of protection I will need. I hate umbrellas but I know that is an option. I also know that layering is best. But what about rain gear?

Is there WIFI on this boat?

We are going on this RS trip from Sep 5 - Sep 17. We'd like to stay a couple more days and then fly to Iceland. We are looking for an inexpensive ($100-150) (or less) hotel in the center of Paris. Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Al Ely Oct 29, 2014 at 10:52 AM

Ann: Don't think we can help with hotel rec; the one we stayed at the end of the R Riv trip was at the edge of the city near the Catcombs; don't remember the name. Good luck finding a room near the centrum in the price range you're seqreching.

Thanks Al. It's fun looking around Paris via the internet to see what is possible. And, to learn from friends what cafes they went to.

I'll be in Paris a few days early (from the Independent Paris program) before connecting with the Rhone trip and would like to share a room at Le Patio St. Antoine with another traveler, July 10-13, between programs. Are there any other women making that same connection, interested in sharing?

I am traveling with France along the Rhone group on April 29. I will be on AF 039 from Dulles to Paris then AF 7660 to Marseille. Anyone in the group taking that flight?
Anne Rosen Apr 07, 2014 at 10:02 PM

Hi Lily, I'll be on the same flight. Looking forward to meeting you! Anne
Lily Burgess Apr 09, 2014 at 08:31 AM

Anne: That's wonderful. I will put Road Scholar luggage tag on my carry on bag. Hope we can find each other at the airport. Lily

I am flying Air France back to Atlanta on the 17 of April and would like to know if anyone else will be flying back on this flight. I made my arrangements through Road Scholar.
