Four of us are on the November 4th Essence of Bhutan trip and would love to "meet" fellow travels on this site. We
are arriving 4 days early to relax and
explore in Bangkok. We are staying at the
Shangra-La and traveling via Cathy
Pacific from San Francisco.

Don't look forward to the 13+ hour flight from Seattle to Hong Kong but I am looking forward to seeing Bhutan Dec. 1 -18 2014. Have been traveling with Road Scholar for many years and always had a enjoyable experience.

Check with your doc for shots, mountain sickness and sleeping pills (barking dogs at night)

I am on the Sept. 28 trip and am looking for a roommate, female. I am a companionable 75 year old in good shape and so looking forward to this trip. I am also Buddhist and really excited about their spiritual traditons.

Dana Bauer Jul 21, 2014 at 01:10 PM

Anyone signed up for the Nov. 4, 2014?
Anita Miller Jul 21, 2014 at 01:23 PM

Hi folks, I took this trip in June of 2013 and it was FABULOUS! Our guide, Fin, took us to a local bank on the first day to exchange US$ for Bhutanese money. Just take $20's to exchange, no $100 bills. I exchanged only about $200 because there isn't much need for money except to buy an occasional trinket. Weather was summerish in June but I found a poncho to be handy when we were caught in the rain because the poncho covers your daypack as well as keeps you dry.

I too am interested in the September or December trip. I too am interested in the weather during this time of the year. Also interested in sharing lodging as I will be travelling solo.

Linda Bitter Jan 20, 2014 at 04:33 PM

I am considering the Sept 28 departure of this trip. What is the weather like in sept?
Sharon Lee-Faris Jul 24, 2014 at 02:55 PM

I am told the average temperature in Sept./Oct. is 70, 74 highest and cold at night.
