11 Days | 10 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Eugene Hirschkoff Jun 09, 2014 at 10:40 PM

Hello:
We are arriving in Halifax on June 10 late for this trip- plane arrives at 10:34 PM (United). If anyone would like to share to cost of a limo to the Atlantica around that time, please send me an email at ghirschkoff@gmail.com thanks

Anne L Matheson Jun 02, 2014 at 01:39 PM

Hello again
There is a shuttle service from the airport to the Atlantica Hotel. The Atlantis Limousine charges $59.00 for up to 4 passengers & luggage. For up to 6 passengers, they also have a SUV. If you want to reserve a trip, call them at 1-888-220-1101. Tell them you are going to the Atlantica Hotel and that you are part of the Road Scholar group.
In previous years, passengers have used this Discussion Board to find other folks who are arriving around the same time, in order to share the cost of the trip. The airport is about 30 minutes from the hotel, so a taxi can be very expensive.
Cheers.....Anne

Hello Guests to the Canadian Maritimes!
My name is Anne Matheson, and I am your Group Leader for this Program. I want to welcome you and just give a couple of quick suggestions: bring along a sweater, hoody or fleecy that can be worn underneath a rain jacket. Ensure that you have either a hat / cap, or a hood on your jacket because we can also get some windy days up in the Cape Breton Highlands. You will not need hiking boots or anything similar, but good sturdy walking shoes are a must. I look forward to meeting you all, and sharing my home with you.

Jo Ann Hunt Jul 09, 2013 at 11:18 PM

Arriving in Halifax on August 7 at about 1 p.m. Anyone interested in sharing a taxi or limo?

Fran L Jul 07, 2013 at 12:06 AM

Three of us are coming in 8/6 at 3PM. I called the Atlantica and asked about a limo, they gave me the name of a company but when I called them they said 3 passengers would cost $89 for an SUV, the $59 taxi would only take 2 people with 3 pieces of luggage. I will call them and ask again, but we had just planned on finding a cab at the ground transportation.
Llewellyn Lutchansky Jul 08, 2013 at 02:27 PM

Hmmm, maybe the limo service filled the other seats with non-RS passengers. I'll look up the email address for the limo service that we used and send it to you. Llewellyn

thanks, if you have that email it would be helpful, I only have a phone and the lady I spoke to was hard to understand
Fran L Jul 12, 2013 at 10:56 AM

The hotel sent me an email confirmation with the email for the limo. I contacted them with the number of people and the size & number of suitcases & they quoted the $59 rate, so I made a reservation. Perhaps they offer a special rate for hotel guests. They are not requiring prepayment so if they change the rate when we get there we can go with someone else.
Gloria Overdier Jul 15, 2013 at 03:07 PM

We are arriving on Aug 7th around 3 and would like infor about the limo if you could let me know.

I think we're not supposed to post that kind of information on here. If you contact the hotel they can give you the email address, or send me an email and I'll send it back.
