I hope to spend free time at The National Gallery and The Tate (not The Tate Modern). Anyone interested?
Martha Sklar Jan 08, 2014 at 09:22 AM

I might be interested; I'll look for you. When are you getting in to London on Friday?
Marlene Sanders Jan 08, 2014 at 10:18 AM

I arrive from JFK 9am Friday why don
Marlene Sanders Jan 08, 2014 at 10:20 AM

Let's meet at the Fri night reception. I arrive 9am Friday from JFK.

Linda Bair Nov 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM

I was last in London about 5 years ago, and saw folks wearing everything from jeans and sneakers to coat and tie. Whatever you are comfortable in will be fine.

Ed Welch Nov 26, 2013 at 02:55 PM

What is the appropriate dress for evenings when we go to the theater?
Larry Lathom Nov 27, 2013 at 12:57 AM

An umbrella and raincoat. And whatever you want to under that. I took a blazer and never wore it. Only one man in our group ever wore a suit coat.
Larry Lathom Nov 27, 2013 at 01:01 AM

See picture above. Those people are at the theatre. Very casual.

Ed Welch Nov 17, 2013 at 03:03 PM

I have been looking at the reading list. The books are interesting but none are very current. Are these the latest good publications on these topics?
Audrey Curtis Nov 20, 2013 at 01:20 PM

Try Neil Macgregor's book Shakespeare's Restless World. He was interviewed a couple weeks ago on PBS. You can access the Diane Rehm interview via podcast.
Ed Welch Nov 22, 2013 at 07:14 PM

Thanks for the suggestion.

Linda Bair Nov 05, 2013 at 02:05 PM

I am also coming in 2 days early, to do some other things in London. Looks like some good plays will be happening, am ordering tix for some that I won't mind seeing twice if they are also on the tour.
Audrey Curtis Nov 05, 2013 at 02:45 PM

I'm arriving on 1/7 - also 2 days early. Your tix idea is something I need to get busy on - PDQ. I'm hoping for good-enuf-weather to do the Eye.
Linda Bair Nov 05, 2013 at 02:48 PM

Linda Bair Nov 05, 2013 at 02:49 PM

I'm arriving 1/8. Just booked a ticket for Perfect Nonsense, going to hold off on others til I see what the tour gives us. Will you be staying at the tour hotel beforehand? I will.
Audrey Curtis Nov 05, 2013 at 03:17 PM

Yes -I will be staying at the tour hotel. Your "tix" posting did remind me to get busy. My first choice was Coriolanus at the Donmar which is totally sold out. So I booked a Wednesday night ticket for Warhorse at The New London Theatre.
Linda Bair Nov 05, 2013 at 03:27 PM

Yes, Coriolanus was one of my first choices too. Hoping for a day-of ticket, or, dream of dreams, that its on this tour. I love the Donmar. There is a play called "Fortune's Fool" at the Old Vic that looks interesting, but am going to wait to book that one. Look forward to meeting you.

Audrey Curtis Sep 25, 2013 at 01:28 PM

Have signed up for the January 9, 2014 program and wondered how many other people have also decided to enroll. It's kind of a dark gloomy month to go to London.
Ed Welch Oct 12, 2013 at 10:15 AM

Just signed up. We are looking forward to the program
Audrey Curtis Oct 12, 2013 at 10:24 AM

I hope it materializes. Payment is due Oct. 24 so we will see if there are enough participants to make it a go.

Larry Lathom Aug 30, 2013 at 08:27 PM

It looks like we have a fair amount of free time in London. I am arriving 2 days early on a back to back program from Paris. I am considering a London Pass with transportation option. Does anybody know if our tour includes an underground/bus system pass?
Joyce Maso Sep 16, 2013 at 11:26 AM

Don't know but am planning to buy a one week travel pass. Easier Joyce

Gail Bosso Aug 21, 2013 at 07:48 PM

My husband and I are enrolled in the program beginning Sept. 16, 2013. Has anyone found a book from the reading list particularly helpful?
Larry Lathom Aug 31, 2013 at 01:10 AM

I am still wading through the London Guides. See you on the 16th. I am on the Paris tour before this one and will arrive in London a coujple of days early.
