I went on the 6-14 December trip and thought it was great. The program was well conceived and well delivered, the group leader and our lecturer/guide were both excellent. Anyone who wanted to vary the program or add to it could easily take off on their own, and many of us did at various times. The hotel was good: I had a problem with the safe in my room and with the wifi and the staff took care of those immediately. My only complaint was the lack of espresso coffee in the morning and no hot milk.

We (husband and I) are going on the April 4th Paris trip, leaving from Seattle. Anyone else planning this trip?

I think Janet Hunt has a responsibility to be specific about what constituted her evaluation of "pretty disappointed". To be negative without specifics isn't very helpful.
janet hunt Dec 30, 2014 at 07:43 AM

I think the trip should have been rated moderate. We did not start in the mornings until 10 and headed back to the hotel by 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I think the lectures were entertaining but not very helpful for the day. The lectures that we had started at 9 a.m. but then ended by 9:40 with another 20 minutes to further wait for our day. The hotel and people at the hotel were wonderful. On the days that my friend and I left the RS program, we had a much better time. Carole Stevens, you are probably right. I enjoyed my RS to Death Valley and I have a friend that has been on lots of RS trips. Thanks for your advice.

What didn't you like about this trip?

janet hunt Dec 28, 2014 at 11:22 AM

I took this trip in November and have to say I was pretty disappointed with RS in general. As a result, I would think long and hard before traveling with RS again. My previous trip with RS was very good, but not this one. I will try other travel groups before using RS again for an international trip.
Carole Stevens Dec 28, 2014 at 11:47 AM

Please don't judge RS by this tour! I joined it 2 or 3 years ago and was terribly disappointed. I had just been on another RS and simply "crossed the river" to extend my time in Paris. The first experience was wonderful; the second (this one) was less than mediocre! I felt totally disappointed with the trip leaders. I simply used the hotel and made my own tour. So, I understand your disappointments. However, I have been on over 20 other RS offerings and found 90% of them excellent. Please, give RS another chance. Maybe we will meet up some day.

I took my first RS trip to Paris Nov 8-16. The tour, the city, the other travelers... it was all marvelous! What happened during your trip Janet?

I'm going to Paris March 28. I'm leaving from Denver.
Erin Hartnett Jan 11, 2015 at 07:35 AM

Great! Will see you there. What is your name?

Carol Nechemias Nov 23, 2014 at 11:05 AM

This is a long shot but wondering whether anyone else signed up for the Dec. 6-14 trip has extended their stay. I will be arriving early, on Dec. 5 and staying (same hotel) until Dec. 19. I have ordered an e-Ticket through www.classictic.com for an evening concert on Saturday, Dec. 6, at La Sainte Chapelle--would love to have someone else attend with me. Also have signed up for a Normany D-Day trip on Dec. 16 through paris-trip.com Looking forward to seeing everyone in Paris!

Hello, My husband and I are arriving CDG airport Dec 7 8:35 AM from Seattle. Anyone arriving around that time want to share a taxi to the hotel?. I'd take the metro but expect to be too jet lagged to navigate.
