Hello again to those of you out there: I am hoping to hear from someone who wants to go to Albania early and see some of the south and also ferry to Corfu. From what I have learned so far, there really aren't any regular tours and the only option seems to be public bus (ask when you get there where the bus station is and when they run!!) or private guide and car. That would be OK with more than one person, but otherwise $$$.

Hi, I just got off the waitlist for this trip and want to go early and maybe take a bus south to Girokastra and Butrint and then the ferry to Corfu. Anybody who wants to join up and/or give me some advice will be appreciated. Thanks, GR

I have signed up for the trip that starts September 25. And I'm also wondering if anyone is arriving early.
Geraldine Russell Jul 16, 2013 at 04:24 PM

Hi, Karin - I just gone on from the waitlist and I want to go early and perhaps take a bus south to Butrint via Girokastro and then a short ferry ride to Corfu and back. Not sure at this point whether to go from Tirana or maybe cut to the chase and enter Albania from Corfu. Would love to talk to you further. GR

Hi, Jean - I just got off waitlist and hoping to go early and go south to Butrint and take the ferry to Corfu. Or maybe enter Albania from Corfu and cut out having to go back north to meet group. Would love to hear from you. GR

I am very interested in taking this trip in May 2013,but there are no comments from previous participants to help me figure out if this journey is worthwhile. If you have taken this trip in the past, would you e-mail me at haron@comcast.net to tell me if you enjoyed the trip, if you found the hotels satisfactory, etc.?
Pauline Friedman Feb 05, 2013 at 09:22 PM

Hi Helen, I never took this trip, although it sounds very interesting. I have to reconsider it. As you can see. it has a high star rating, but no reviews. You can always check the hotels on-line, although personal experience is preferable. Best of luck to you.

Pauline Friedman Aug 30, 2011 at 04:00 PM

I'd like to know a little more about it.
Mike Broderick Oct 23, 2011 at 06:22 PM

I'm pondering taking it next May, but it is hard to choose! If I do, I'll take the Bulgarian extension. I have no direct knowledge of the trip, but I've found a bit about many of the sites mentioned by looking them up in Wikipedia or on Google. Some of them sound great! I'm not keen on the frequent hotel changes, but that's unavoidable if you want to go on a trip that covers four countries.

Hi Mike,

We alwayslike to buy a few snacks for the room. We would prefer to use euros rather than changing money to the local currency. Does anyone know if this is possible? TKS
Mike Broderick Oct 23, 2011 at 06:23 PM

I have no direct knowledge, but Wikipedia reports that all the countries on this trip except Greece use their own currency. It is possible that tourist-oriented places would take Euros, though probably with a surcharge of some sort.
