See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hi Barb & Lanny ~ I'm planning to take the same trip. Have been planning it for years. My first RS trip. Hope the weather is great. Tom
Barbara Bertram Apr 14, 2013 at 11:57 AM

Hi Tom-- where are you going to be traveling from? We are flying direct to Zurich out of Chicago. We have traveled with RS to Italy and it was a fabulous trip--hoping for the same in Switzerland! Got our fingers crossed for good weather too.
Leslie Walker Apr 14, 2013 at 10:45 PM

Hello Barb and Tom, My husband Ron and I will be on the Aug 12 trip. We're from Macomb, IL and looking forward to our first RS trip. Nice to meet you all!

Not sure how this discussion board works, but my husband and I are scheduled for the Switzerland by Rail excursion beginning 9/4/13. Is there anyone else out there participating on this trip?
Judi Lemon Jan 19, 2013 at 11:32 PM

This is Judi and Ralph from Seattle WA. We are looking forward to this trip.
Norma Racey Jan 22, 2013 at 04:23 PM

Hi Judi and Ralph. Thanks for responding. Have you ever taken a trip with road scholar before? My husband has, but this is my first one.
Judi Lemon Feb 03, 2013 at 01:21 PM

Yes. This is the 2nd one internationally with Road Scholar. We have done others internationally and rate Road Scholar at the top of the list.
John Azelvandre Apr 20, 2013 at 11:32 AM

My wife Miriam and I are late sign-aboards for the 4 Sept departure date. Believe we were lucky to pick up two slots previously assigned to others who cancel. At any rate, we will be flying out of Seattle, whwhere we live. BTW, I go by Joe, not my first name of Henry.
David Hutchison Jun 05, 2013 at 02:00 AM

My wife, Lib, and I are scheduled for the September 4th trip flying out of LAX to Zurich. We live in southern CA in Rancho Mirage, CA. This is our first Road Scholar trip. Dave Hutchison

Brian & Chris Lake Orion MI
Brian Clark Feb 01, 2013 at 08:25 PM

Hi Leslie, Didn't know there was a direct flight from Chicago. Road Scholar routed us thru NYC. Will you be meeting the group in Zurich for the arranged transfer to Lucern?
Brian Clark Feb 01, 2013 at 08:26 PM

Leslie Walker Feb 05, 2013 at 06:43 PM

Yes, we will arrive about 11:00 am. We fly to Chicago from Peoria, IL. This will be our first trip to Switzerland. How about you?
Brian Clark Feb 05, 2013 at 09:03 PM

Yes, our first time to Switzerland. We picked Switzerland for a 50th anniversary present to ourselves.
Leslie Walker Feb 08, 2013 at 07:13 PM

Congratulations! We just had our 45th. We look forward to meeting you!
Linda Schroeder Feb 10, 2013 at 09:42 PM

Hi Brian and Leslie. My husband Jerry and I will also be on the June 10 trip. We are flying out of JFK a day early (leaving on the 9th) to allow a day for jet lag. We're staying near the airport and will meet you all on the 11th for the transfer.
Linda Schroeder Feb 10, 2013 at 09:43 PM

We're from Sacramento, but we're flying to NY a few days early to visit our children and grandchildren before heading on.
Brian Clark Feb 10, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Brian Clark Feb 10, 2013 at 10:16 PM

Hi Linda,
Brian Clark Feb 10, 2013 at 10:17 PM

Smart move to rest & recover from the long, overnight flight.
Leslie Walker Feb 15, 2013 at 04:41 PM

So far we are Leslie, my husband Ron, Brian, Linda, and Jerry. We live in Macomb, IL, but are originally from Southern Calif--Long Beach and San Marino. So that's 3 Californians! It seems like everyone is from somewhere else these days...
Leslie Walker Feb 15, 2013 at 04:42 PM

No, I mean 4 Californians. Brian? Any California in you?
Margaret Jennings Mar 04, 2013 at 10:27 AM

Hello! This is Peggy Jennings. My husband David Calhoun and I will be on the June 10 trip. It's our honeymoon trip! (And YES, we do qualify age-wise for Road Scholar trips!) We are looking forward to it! We are flying from Harrisburg, PA to Dulles and then Dulles to Zurich.
Brian Clark Mar 04, 2013 at 11:49 AM

Congratulations honeymooners. Chris & I look forward to traveling Switzerland in June with Leslie, Ron, Linda & Jerry.
Brian Clark Mar 04, 2013 at 11:50 AM

Anyone else "out there" joining us for the June trip to Switzerland?
Linda Schroeder Mar 17, 2013 at 11:43 PM

Leslie, I grew up in Long Beach, and now we live in northern California. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Leslie Walker Apr 14, 2013 at 10:43 PM

Hi All, we have had to change plans and won't be on the June 10 trip after all. Had to reschedule for the August 12 trip. I hope you all have a great time!

Margot Leroy Sep 01, 2012 at 08:36 PM

Hi Fellow Travelers,
This is Richard and Margot from Troy, Michigan. We are arriving two days earlier to visit a friend in Basel. Flying on Lufthansa to Frankfurt so I hope the flight attendant strike situation is resolved as the eight hour strike last Friday has caused a real mess. This is our first Road Scholar trip so are are looking forward to all the scenic wonders.
